The event is a deep partial solar eclipse, with the Moon obscuring between 90% and 96% of the Sun. It begins across the UK just after 6:00 pm, reaches maximum coverage of 90% to 95% around 7:10 pm to 7:13 pm and ends around 8:03 pm to 8:07 pm .
