๐โจ The Magic of Story Time! โจ๐
At Woodleyโs park, we know that sharing books with babies and toddlers is so much more than simply reading a story. ๐โค๏ธ Mrs Phoebe has been enjoying lots of different story books with our little ones, helping them discover new words, sounds, characters and ideas in a fun and engaging way.
Reading from an early age supports childrenโs language and communication, listening skills, imagination and understanding of the world around them. It also creates wonderful opportunities for children to build relationships, express themselves and develop a lifelong love of books. ๐
We love seeing our babies and toddlers turn the pages, point at pictures, listen to familiar stories and get excited about what happens next! ๐ฅฐ
Every story shared is a little step towards a lifelong love of learning. ๐๐

Water play is an important part of early years learning, as it provides children with opportunities to explore, experiment and develop their curiosity. It supports physical development through pouring, scooping and splashing, while also helping to strengthen fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Water play encourages language, communication and social skills as children share resources, talk about their experiences and play cooperatively๐๐ซถ๐ป

โจ๐งice painting๐งโจ
Miss Jade and our babies enjoyed a lovely sensory painting activity, exploring the exciting world of ice painting!๐ง๐
The babies sat together on the floor with a large roll of paper and used colourful ice paints to create their own marks. As the ice melted, it moved across the paper, leaving behind beautiful, unique patterns and trails. ๐โจ This was a wonderful opportunity for the babies to explore cause and effect, colours, textures and mark-making, while having lots of fun getting creative! ๐ฅฐ๐จ

๐๐ Getting messy with our emotions! ๐๐
Preschool got stuck into a wonderfully messy emotion potion station, inspired by The Colour Monster! ๐จ๐
We explored different emotions and chatted about what makes us feel happy, sad, cross, calm and loved! All while squishing, spreading and creating with our hands.
It was such a lovely way to slow down, tune into our mind, body and soul, and give children the freedom to express how they feel through sensory play.
Supporting Personal, Social & Emotional Development, while building language, communication, creativity, confidence and those all important self-regulation skills. The more we discuss our emotions, the more we begin to understand them โจ

๐๐ **Exploring with our Orange Lemonade Tray!** ๐๐
Mrs Phoebe and the babies have been having lots of fun with our orange lemonade tray! They took turns scooping and pouring the lemonade in and out of the cups, developing their coordination and exploring cause and effect. ๐ฅค
The babies chatted about the different colours they could see and enjoyed feeling the different textures as they explored. They also practised their counting skills as they counted the pretend lemon and orange slices. ๐๐๐ข

Out in the sun with the bunnies โ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ
Today our bunnies alongside Miss Phoebe and Miss Jade went on a lovely outing visiting our local park and having snack, before visiting our local shop to buy some fruit. Whilst at the shop the Bunnies explored the items and colours that they could see on the shelve, getting excited when they recognised different fruits and developed independence and decision making skills as they picked out the different fruits for snack time๐ ๐ ๐
Here at woodleys park we believe that it is very important to be part of our local community and work closely with local businesses. We do this regularly by going on outings, visiting local businesses with the children giving them opportunities to explore the area and world around them as well as develop a sense of belonging in their community. ๐๐ฅ

The importance of a key person โจ
Every child has a special Key Person who helps them feel safe, loved, and valued every day. ๐
From sharing cuddles and stories to celebrating first achievements and exploring new experiences together, these precious moments help build trusting relationships that support each child's confidence and development.
Our Key Persons take the time to truly know each child, their interests, routines, and unique personalities, creating a secure environment where they can thrive.
Together, they make wonderful memories through laughter, play, and everyday adventures that become the foundation for lifelong learning.
These special bonds mean so much, not only to the children but to us too. Watching their smiles grow brighter each day is a reminder of just how important these relationships are. ๐ฅฐ
Because every little moment matters, and every memory made together is one to treasure. ๐
