Following a serious road traffic collision earlier today (18 August), a large section of the A45 is closed in both directions between Wellingborough and Northampton.

There is no access to the A45 from the Wilby Way roundabout in Wellingborough through to the Bedford Road junction in Northampton.

The carriageway is expected to remain closed for much of the day, and members of the public are being asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes where necessary.

Further updates will be issued once we have more information.
