🫪 A woman who suffers a sudden cardiac arrest in public is significantly less likely to survive than a man - about 27% less likely!

🫣 One of the biggest reasons is hesitation. People worry about where to place their hands, whether it’s appropriate to touch a woman’s chest, or whether using a defibrillator could expose her b***s.

💔 A person in cardiac arrest is clinically dead—and at that point, they’re not judging your CPR technique, your awkwardness, or your ability to navigate a bra clasp.

Trust me, nobody has ever come back and said, “Honestly, the CPR was fine, but the bra removal lacked finesse.” 😂

The only things that can bring them back are immediate CPR and defibrillation (AED use).

Most women would much rather have a stranger save their life—even if it means their bra is removed and their baps are exposed—than die because someone was too afraid to act!

For CPR
✅ Bo***es do not prevent effective chest compressions.

For an AED
✅ The bra must be removed.
✅ Pads must be placed directly onto bare skin.
✅ Correct placement is essential for the shock to work.

⚖️ In the UK, the SARAH (Social Action, Responsibility and Heroism) Act 2015 helps protect people who act reasonably and in good faith to save a life during an emergency.

Naughty elves love mischief, but a locked defib is no joke.

Ambulance Services use The Circuit to guide people to the nearest usable defibrillator, but Christmas closures can mean this lifesaving equipment is suddenly out of reach.

Before the festive break:
✅ Review your defib’s details on The Circuit: https://thecircuit.uk
✅ If it will be behind a locked door, mark it as unavailable
✅ If it’s accessible 24/7, record a status check to give Ambulance Services confidence that it is still available
✅ Give your defib a quick winter check (pads and battery)

This Christmas, don’t leave your community stuck outside, make sure your defib stays rescue ready!
