Guitar School Northampton

Guitar School Northampton Guitar tuition for all ages, levels and most styles. RGT & Rock School Gradings
Band Workshops We now offer lessons through Skype.

Here at The Guitar School we are dedicated to raising the standard of guitar tuition. We cater for all ages, levels and most styles taking an individual approach to tuition, ensuring that our students develop their own strengths and weaknesses whilst gaining a firm understanding of the fundamental elements in playing the guitar, bass, ukulele or drums. Nothing willl ever compare to having a tutor there in person to guide you through the learning process! But for many who can't find a reliable tutor locally, or for those who live too far from a good a guitar, bass or ukulele teacher, Skype is the way forward. If you have viewed one of our video turorials and would like a more in depth lesson with one of our instructors, Skype can make this happen no matter where in the world you are. All you need is a good computer, with a camera and a good internet connection! We are RGT registered (www.registryofguitartutors.com) and we prepare many of our students for RGT exams with a 100% pass rate. Since December 2009 The Guitar School has hosted the RGT examinations. These are held three times a year, March/April, June/July and Nov/Dec. In 2012 Lee Kenny was accepted on to the board of examiners for the RGT.

On this cover, I used the Veelah “V4 Series” Acoustic Guitar. The finish on these acoustics is high-quality, the action is smooth, the tone is rich, and overall playability is outstanding for the price range. This was provided on loan by my friends at Vader Sound, the U.K. distributors for Veelah guitars. The V4 RRP is £329.00. With our exclusive code, GSN10, you can claim a 10% discount through Vader Sound on any Veelah Guitar. Visit: www.vadersound.com/pages/veelah

Oasis released “Take Me Away” on 5th April 1994 as a B-side to their debut single “Supersonic”. Noel wrote this B-side after a failed session of trying to record “Bring It On Down”. According to sound engineer Dave Scott, it was written “in no less than 5 minutes and recorded in 15 minutes”. Noel played an Epiphone acoustic with a half-pint glass for a slide, overdubbed through a Roland Space Echo, before Scott mixed the track in another five minutes.

“Good to be Free” was originally released as a B-side to the Oasis single “Whatever", along with “Half The World Away” and “Slide Away”. You can find videos for the other two B-sides on my YouTube channel, and my cover for “Whatever” is in production. The single was released on 19 December 1994 and was the band's first non-album single.

Apart from a few lead fills and the outro/solo, the guitars on the studio version of this song are mainly rhythm, with arpeggiated chords and the tremolo effect. In this cover, I have embellished some of Noel's lead parts, taking inspiration from live versions of Oasis' early songs, which roughly follow the tremolo guitar and elaborate on the lead fills.
