Today is a big day for students across the country.
For some, it will bring relief and celebration. For others, the results may not be exactly what they hoped for.
Whatever is on that piece of paper, it does not define a student's ability, potential or future.
GCSE results are one part of a much bigger journey.
If your child is pleased with their results, celebrate the hard work that got them there.
If they're disappointed, remind them that there are still plenty of routes forward and that one result does not close every door.
Most importantly, today is a day to recognise the effort, resilience and determination it has taken to get this far.
To everyone receiving GCSE results today - well done. 💙

"They understand it when we practise at home... then completely forget it at school." Sound familiar?
Sometimes a child can understand something in the moment, but that doesn't necessarily mean the learning has fully stuck.
They may need more opportunities to revisit the topic, practise independently and build the confidence to apply what they've learned in different situations.
✅ That's where personalised tuition can help!
At Kip McGrath Northampton North, we tailor our English and maths tuition to each child, helping them strengthen their understanding and build skills they can use with confidence.
If you've noticed your child repeatedly struggling with something you thought they'd mastered, we'd be happy to chat about how we can support them.

Things Children Say... 😂
"Why do I need maths? I'll always have a calculator!"
Calculators are useful, but maths is about much more than getting the answer to a sum.
We use mental maths every day without even thinking about it...
✔️ Working out whether we have enough money at the shops
✔️ Knowing how much time we have left
✔️ Sharing food equally
✔️ Checking we've received the right change
✔️ Working out whether that "20% off" deal is actually a good one!
Building strong maths skills helps children become confident problem-solvers, both in the classroom and in everyday life.
What's the funniest thing your child has ever said about school or learning? 😂👇

Could you describe your summer so far in just THREE sentences? That's today's challenge!
It could be about a holiday, a day out, something funny that happened or simply your favourite day of the summer so far.
The rules are simple:
1️⃣ Three sentences only.
2️⃣ Make them as descriptive as possible.
3️⃣ Try to include one word you've never used before.
Writing challenges don't always need to be long to get children thinking creatively.
What would your three sentences say?

Let’s Talk Shapes! 🟦
Understanding shapes is a key building block in maths - and it goes far beyond the classroom!
From recognising 2D shapes like squares and triangles to exploring 3D shapes like cubes and cylinders, shape knowledge helps children with:
✔️ Problem-solving
✔️ Spatial awareness
✔️ Geometry and measurement
💡 Try this at home: Go on a shape hunt! How many circles, rectangles, or cubes can your child spot around the house?

They're learning... without even realising it.
Summer doesn't need to be filled with worksheets to keep children's minds active.
✔️ Baking practises measuring and fractions.
✔️ Travelling introduces time and distance.
✔️ Board games develop counting and strategy.
✔️ Shopping practises money and mental maths.
Learning happens in more places than the classroom.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is simply give children opportunities to explore, play and get involved.
