WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR GUT HEALTH
Cells that line your entire gastrointestinal tract have receptors for both oestrogen and progesterone, which means that these hormones have a significant impact on how your gut functions.
Hormones can affect how quickly food moves through your system and how much fluid you retain. Have you experienced constipation, bloating, or loose stools before or during your period? This is why.
So when these hormone levels become erratic in perimenopause, and then eventually decrease with menopause, you may experience unpredictable changes in your bowel patterns, and more gas, constipation, and bloating
But this is only one element of the connection between your gut and hormones. Other hormonal imbalances affect gut function, too.

Consider that it hasn’t been that long that humans had access to a steady stream of food. There was a time when humans spent most of the day roaming the countryside looking for things to eat, and they weren’t always successful. 🫛🥔🍓🫐
We’re taught that the more you eat, the faster your metabolism becomes, but this actually doesn’t make any sense.Every time you eat, your pancreas makes more insulin. Your pancreas keeps producing insulin, and your cells eventually can’t keep up with
the amount of insulin sent their way and become resistant. Eating all day long is the quickest route to insulin resistance.
The first step in regulating your insulin levels is to change how often you eat. This is easier than you might think. And that’s because we have that same design the cavewoman did a millennia ago🧌
You need to trust that you were designed for what we call feast/famine cycling — just like your cavewomen ancestors.
