Very happy with my latest talk which everyone seems very interested in. What a wonderfully versatile actress Patricia Routledge was. I’ve wanted to do a talk on her for a long time. You could say it’s been on my bucket list - or should that be ‘bouquet’!!!

Please contact me if you’re interested.

I had a terrific time yesterday morning with an enthusiastic audience at Wycliffe Lutterworth U3A talking about the Carry On films
One member responded to the speaker secretary afterwards
Please pass on to Steve that we thought him one of the best speakers we have ever heard. Excellent - entirely without notes, fluent, entertaining, informative and amusing. A very good listen (and I didn’t think it would be my ‘cup of tea’, at all!)

I had a super time this week with East Hunsbury WI. They were such a receptive audience to my talk on Rodgers and Hammerstein. To be fair, it such an easy talk to get right because the quality of the songs is so amazing. Here’s a YouTube clip to the one that began it all in 1943. ‘Oklahoma” was the pairs first collaboration. It begins with “Oh What A Beautiful Morning.”

Had a great morning yesterday with the lovely people over at Bedford U3A presenting my talk on Victoria Wood. It’s a celebration of her unique wonderful talent. I always finish with her most well-known song. Thought you’d like to see it here

Yesterday I gave my Walt Disney talk to Oundle U3A and had some lovely feedback from their retiring speaker coordinator:-
‘Hi again Steve
Just to say another big thank you for your talk on Walt Disney yesterday. I think that we all learned quite a bit about Walt Disney and his life. As you said, a lot of his story has been ‘airbrushed out’ by his company and so there were many facts that were new to us. Watching those very early cartoons was pretty amazing too. And to think that they were all hand drawn by individuals – how far we have come since then….
I hope you had a good journey home. It’s been great to be able to call on you for so many talks over the past few years. Carolyn is the lady who is taking over from me as Programme Secretary – she has your details and I think that she will be calling on you regarding the ‘After Walt’ talk….’
So nice to know my talks hit the right note. Thank you Oundle U3A.

So nice to meet the residents of Spencer House today and hear their memories of Old Northampton. They told me some fascinating things.

There’s nothing more satisfying than giving a talk which entertains me as well as the audience. This was certainly the case this afternoon when I gave my first JUDY GARLAND talk at Richmond Retirement Village. What an amazing star she was. Its was great to see everyone present thought the same!

I had a great morning with East Hunsbury Senior Citizens Club with my talk on Grumoy Old Men. To begin with, I asked who knew a grumpy old man and all the ladies’ hands shot up. Then I asked who actually was a grumpy old man and all the chaps’ hands went up - including mine! Super fun morning
