🐮 Farm Animal Week! 🌾🐷

We’ve had another lovely and very busy week at Dommy Daycare, this week exploring all things farm animals! 🐄🐷🐑🐔

The children have enjoyed lots of sensory play, exploring different textures and materials while learning about the animals we might find on a farm. We’ve also had lots of fun making animal noises and seeing if we could guess which animal each sound belongs to! 🐮 “Moo!” 🐷 “Oink!” 🐑 “Baa!” — there have certainly been lots of animal sounds around Dommy Daycare this week! 😂

On Thursday we enjoyed another fantastic session with Chibi Rhyme Time 🎶🇯🇵. The children are becoming more familiar with the songs and activities each week and are already picking up more Japanese words and phrases. It’s lovely to see their confidence growing as they join in! ❤️

On Friday we headed off to toddler group, giving the children another opportunity to socialise, explore new environments and enjoy lots of different activities and play with their friends. 🥰

🌾 Next week is Harvest Week! 🌽🍎

We have asked if all of our children could bring in their favourite fruit or vegetable to share with their friends. We’ll be talking about the different foods, looking at their colours, shapes and textures and learning all about where our food comes from. 🍎🥕🥦

We’re looking forward to another fun-filled week of learning through play, exploring and making memories together! 💛

Have a lovely weekend everyone! 🌈✨

🐾 Welcome Back & Animal Adventures! 🌈

We have had a lovely start to our new term, and it has been wonderful welcoming some new friends to Dommy Daycare! They have been settling in so well, getting to know their new surroundings and making lots of new friends. We are so proud of how well they have done! 💛

This week we have been exploring the wonderful world of animals. The children have enjoyed painting animals, taking part in lots of sensory play and learning about the different sounds that animals make. 🐶🐮🦁 This has created lots of opportunities for early communication, new vocabulary, imagination and learning through play.

For the last two Thursdays, we have also been very lucky to welcome Chibi Rhyme Time for a special session with us! 🎶 The children have absolutely loved joining in with the songs, rhymes and activities, and we have even been introduced to some Japanese language during our sessions. 🇯🇵 Chibi Rhyme Time

We feel very lucky to have these wonderful experiences available to the children, and it has been lovely seeing how engaged and excited they have been.

Another fantastic week at Dommy Daycare! 💕

We can’t wait to see what next week brings! 🌈✨

☀️🎉 Our Leavers & Summer Party! 🎉☀️

Today we celebrated our Leavers and Summer Party, and what a fantastic day we had! 💛

We started the day with a special McDonald’s lunch, before heading off to our party. Due to the weather, we had to make a last-minute change of venue, but it certainly didn’t stop us from having lots of fun!

The children enjoyed music and dancing, a bouncy castle, playdough, colouring and bikes, as well as lots of yummy fresh fruit and doughnuts! 🍓🍩🎨

It was such a lovely opportunity to celebrate all the children , make memories together and, of course, say a special goodbye to our leavers as they begin their next exciting adventures. 🌈

A huge thank you to all of our parents for your continued support, kindness and encouragement. We really do appreciate it and feel so lucky to have such wonderful families as part of Dommy Daycare. ❤️

We will now have a little break while our playroom gets a well-deserved revamp, ready for an exciting new September!

We’ll see you all again in a week’s time. We hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the summer holidays and we can’t wait to welcome you back! ☀️🏡✨

Lots of love,
The Dommy Daycare Team 💛

🎨 Colour Week at Dommy Daycare 🌈

Last week we had a wonderful Colour Week, filled with lots of bright, creative and sensory experiences!

The children enjoyed lots of colour mixing and sorting, exploring what happens when colours come together and developing their understanding of similarities and differences. We also enjoyed sensory play, painting with ice and even painting with cars, which was a big hit! 🚗🎨

We got creative in the kitchen too and made our own colourful cakes, giving the children opportunities to explore ingredients, textures and colours. 🧁🌈

We also took a special trip to B&Q to explore all the different paint colours, as Dommy Daycare is having a fresh new look at the end of the month! The children loved looking through the colour choices and even choosing some of their favourite colours. 🎨🏡

We were also very lucky to be gifted a Barbie house, which the children have absolutely loved exploring and playing with. It has already inspired lots of imaginative play, storytelling and role play! 🏠💕

Another brilliant week at Dommy Daycare! 🌈

This week we are moving on to Construction Week, so keep an eye out for our next weekly update at the end of the week! 🚧👷‍♀️

🌊 Sea Creatures Week 🐠🐙

Last week we enjoyed an exciting Sea Creatures Week, after noticing how interested the children have been in learning about life under the sea. We love following the children’s interests and using them to inspire our activities and learning.

The children had lots of fun taking part in messy play, exploring different textures and using their imaginations to create their own underwater worlds. We also enjoyed a trip to the park, making the most of the fresh air and developing our physical skills through climbing, running and exploring.

Back at setting, we got creative by making our own playdough fish and had great fun creating octopus spaghetti, encouraging sensory exploration, fine motor development and lots of conversation about the amazing creatures that live in our oceans. 🐟🪸

This week, Dommy Daycare is closed while we all enjoy a well-deserved holiday before the rest of the summer holidays begin. We hope all of our families are having a wonderful time and making lots of special memories together. ☀️💛

We will be back next week and available to answer any calls or messages, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back on Monday for more fun, learning and adventures together!

See you all on Monday! 🌈😊

☀️ Summer Fun 🍦⚽🌊

What a wonderful way to finish the term before the summer holidays begin! We have had a fantastic week filled with fun, laughter and lots of memorable experiences.

We started the week by taking a special trip to the McCarthy-Dixon Foundation, where we donated our food bank items. The children enjoyed learning about the importance of kindness and helping others in our community.

We also visited The Beehive, where we had a look around for some new toys and enjoyed a delicious slice of cake together – a lovely treat for everyone! 🍰

Back at setting, we embraced our summer theme with lots of exciting sensory play, including making pretend ice creams, ice painting, and exploring our beach-themed sensory activities. These hands-on experiences encouraged creativity, imagination and lots of conversation.

On Wednesday, we got into the football spirit with our England Football Day! The children had great fun making football cakes and decorating England flags, ready to cheer on the team together. ⚽🏴
