Our second session of Little Woodworkers 🪵🔨

Some of our Wise Owls children have been busy exploring the wonderful world of woodwork! Today was the day we made bug hotels to take home. We learnt a lot about the bugs that we may see in our gardens and how to care for them.

We learnt the safety precautions around using tools and what we should do if we find a tool at home that belongs to our parents.

We love seeing where their creativity and curiosity take them!

Huge thanks to MT Home Improvements for joining us today to give our children some fabulous opportunities!

🌟 20 years of Emmy Jaynes 🌟

Celebrating 20 incredible years of our nursery!

What a wonderful journey it has been, filled with laughter, learning, friendships and countless special memories. We are so proud to have been part of so many children’s early years and to have watched them grow, learn and flourish.

A huge thank you to all our wonderful children, families, staff and everyone who has supported us along the way. Your love and support have made these 20 years truly special. 🥰

With some team members that have been with us up to 18 years. This is a huge achievement and so lovely for our families that come back to visit. Here’s to 20 years of happy little faces, precious memories and making a difference! 🥂🎈

Little Woodworkers 🪵🔨

Some of our Wise Owls children have been busy exploring the wonderful world of woodwork! Today was the day we made bird boxes to take home. From hammering and tapping to joining and creating, the children have been developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration and problem-solving skills.

Most importantly, they’ve been having lots of fun, making choices and taking pride in their creations. 🌟

We love seeing where their creativity and curiosity take them! ❤️

⭐️ FEEDBACK ⭐️

We wanted to share some lovely feedback that we have recently received from one of our parents….

Hello,

Just a quick note to say thank you to all the staff for all of your hard work in the nursery.

We have been absolutely blown away by the progress that our child has made and by how happy he is every time he comes to Emmy Jayne’s. We really appreciate the love, care and attention he receives every day. He absolutely loves coming, and we honestly couldn’t have hoped for a better start to his nursery journey.

One of our favourite things is seeing what he comes home with each day. He’s always surprising us with new words, new songs and new things he’s learned, and we love hearing him proudly show us what he’s been doing. It’s wonderful to see just how much he’s developing and growing in confidence, and that’s a real credit to all of you.

As someone who works in education myself, I know just how much hard work happens behind the scenes that often goes unnoticed or unrecognised. I just wanted to let you all know how much we appreciate everything you do.

A special thank you to everyone in Squirrels and Harry's room, who are always so good at keeping us updated and are incredibly patient, caring and kind with our son. It really means a lot to us. It really shows how good they are at their jobs.

Thank you again for everything you do.

There’s something truly magical about learning outdoors. 🌿💚

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, the outdoor environment is so much more than a playground—it’s an extension of the classroom. Every puddle, stick, flower, and bug becomes an opportunity to explore, question, and learn.

Outdoor play supports:

🌱 Physical development through climbing, running, and balancing.
🧠 Problem-solving and critical thinking through exploration.
💬 Communication and language as children collaborate and share ideas.
😊 Emotional wellbeing by reducing stress and building confidence.
🎨 Creativity and imagination through open-ended play.

When children have the freedom to connect with nature, they develop resilience, curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Sometimes the best classroom doesn’t have four walls—it has fresh air, muddy boots, and endless possibilities. 🍃

🐻 Goldilocks and the three bears 🐻

Today our wonderful preschool children had a bear-y exciting adventure watching Goldilocks and the Three Bears pantomime!

There were lots of giggles, singing, dancing, and plenty of audience participation. It was wonderful to see the children’s faces light up with excitement as they joined in the fun and brought the story to life.

Experiences like these help to spark imagination, build confidence, and create special memories that our little learners will treasure.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this fantastic trip possible! 🌟
