✈️🛩️Families Day! ✈️🛩️
Yesterday RAF Leeming hosted its annual families day on station. The children from Rafa Kidz had great fun exploring all the different vehicles, trying on different uniforms, looking at the stalls and watching the amazing plane displays. The staff got involved with the fun too, leading by example at having a go and learning about something new.

In the run up to families day the children took part in a paper plane challenge, testing out different types of paper and card to find which one could fly the furthest, measuring how far their planes flew. We also had a preview of the Swiss display team as they practiced their routine.

We all had a memorable day✈️🛩️

🚴🚴‍♀️RAFA Rides week at RAFAKidz Leeming🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

This Saturday sees RAF Leeming host the final RAFARides of the season.

To celebrate this we will have the static bikes at nursery all week and we invite all station personnel to jump on and get peddling! We would like to get as many miles behind us as possible to add to our aim of cycling 1315 miles (the distance between all RAFAKidz nurseries). This is your chance to get competitive and get your picture on our wall of fame.
Just pop by the nursery and jump on or put your name on the time slot sheet.

On Thursday we will be holding our RAFA Rides challenge at nursery with the children scooting and cycling around the MUGA.

Any families or individuals who do any cycling over this week are also invited to add their miles to the total.

🎨 Artist of the month 🎨
May has seen the children learn about the Artist Yayoi Kasuma who is best known for her dotty prints which she calls infinity dots.
The children have been taking part in creating their own dotty masterpieces though a range of techniques such as finger prints, bingo dabbers and cotton cue tips.

📚Book of the month📚

During may our book of the month has been Handa’s surprise. The children have enjoyed listening to the story, exploring small world animals from the story, creating art work of fruits and discussing their favourite fruits and even using playdough to make representations of different fruits.

This week the children took part in a Taste Ed lesson where they got to practice their skills by chopping the fruits and eating them. They also used their senses to explore texture, smell and taste of the different fruits.🍊🍍🥭🍌🥑

World Bee Day 🐝🐝🐝🐝

Today we have been celebrating World Bee Day throughout nursery. The children have enjoyed learning all about the ecosystem and facts about bees. It has been fantastic to see all of the children dressed up and seeing the children participate in our bee themed activities. We had so much fun doing some bumblebee themed yoga and exploring making our own bees with the play dough and making honeycomb shaped patterns using straws.

Light and Dark.

This week across the nursery we have been exploring our new sensory resources. We have been exploring colours, light, reflections and textures. Whilst using these new resources, children showed curiosity while exploring, imagination whilst pretending, making links through trial and error and a sense of being proud of their achievements. We look forward to exploring all the different resources over the upcoming weeks.

We celebrated through exploring the world in which we live, our planet and all the wild life. We made a birthday cake too 🌏🎂🦒🐘🐅🦍
