ππ¦π₯΅ IMPORTANT NOTICE PLEASE READ UNTIL THE END! ππ₯΅
As you can see over the next 3 days the weather warning has gone from an Amber to RED status. Temperatures could hit 38oc! Schools & nurseries up & down the UK are closing in preperation HOWEVER we will be open as normal BUT please keep in mind that we are a metal coated Portakabin which retains the heat & when it's 30oc outside it can reach 35oc+ inside!
Please be assured that we are doing our best to stay cool!
Ice lollies provided daily
Air Con units
Staying inside!
Deflecting the sun by keeping lights off & blinds closed
Plenty of drinks
Use of own water bottles & freeflowing ice cold water from the cooler
Discouraging any physical activities
Repeated whole group activitoes to cool down which does include TV & movie time just so you know.
In the event of & preparing for soaring temperatures where we can't control or reduce the heat inside, please be prepared for us to send children home & close the setting.
In the event of this happening we will call you to arrange to pick up your children.
ππ₯΅π¦We want you all to be assured that we are only thinking of the children & our team's health & safety & well being as we certainly don't want any heat exhaustion casualties!
ππ₯΅π¦We ask that over the next 3 days IF you are able to keep your children at home on any of the days then please do. As above we are "predicting like last year" we will end up having to call you all anyway to collect your children (but obviously we will be monitoring each day) AND keeping a close eye on your children too because we care β€οΈ
Pop us an email or call please IF you are keeping your child at home on any specific days β€οΈπ¦π₯΅β€οΈ
IF YOUR CHILD IS COMING IN AS NORMAL PLEASE PUT SUN CREAM ON BEFORE COMING IN! then we will top up accordingly IF we get chance to play outside.
Thank You for reading & of course for your continued understanding & support in any given situation π

We have had the best week promoting healthy eating, and during the week we tried lots of different foods including watermelon lollies, fruit and veg salads, smoothies and our homemade still lemonade which the children described as βsourβ π (while pulling the faces)ππππ
To link in with our healthy eating theme we read the story of βThe Very Hungry Caterpillarβ and made caterpillar shaped cheese straws for snack π

This week we have been learning about minibeasts πππͺ²π·οΈπ¦
The children have explored our minibeasts tuff tray, using natural resources, magnifying glasses and a variety of different insects to encourage curiosity and discussion. We have talked about the different insects, using questions about where do you think they live, and what do they eat?
We have used our imaginations to create some amazing minibeasts using the playdough.
