Our Year 2 classroom is getting a little Brompton makeover this summer… and we are LOVING how it’s starting to come together! 💙💛

We’ve been busy creating a space that feels cosier, calmer and more natural, with lots of lovely little touches to make the classroom feel welcoming and inspiring for our children. 🌿🪵📚

But… 👀 WE’RE NOT DONE YET!

Just wait until everything gets a fresh lick of paint! 🎨✨

We think this room is going to feel completely different when our Year 2 children walk through the door in September — and we can’t wait to see their faces!

The Brompton transformation is well and truly underway! 🐝💙💛

✨🐝 The transformation continues... and this time we're shining the spotlight on our Early Years Foundation Unit! 🐝✨

Our amazing Early Years team has been incredibly busy over the summer, pouring their creativity, passion and hard work into creating a truly inspiring environment for our youngest learners. 💙💛

We're creating exciting, purposefully designed spaces where children can explore, imagine and thrive, including...

🎨 A dedicated creative messy art area
🏡 A cosy home corner for imaginative play
🌿 A loose parts play area to inspire curiosity and problem-solving
🌈 A peaceful quiet and calm room where children can relax, regulate and recharge

And that's just the beginning... 👀

It's all starting to come together beautifully, and we can't wait to see our Nursery and Reception children filling these spaces with laughter, creativity and discovery this September.

☀️🔬 **Brompton Summer Science Challenge is here!** 🌿🧪

Who says science has to stay in the classroom?

This summer, we'd love our children to become **Summer Scientists** by taking on as many of the fun challenges as they can. From making a walking water rainbow and launching straw rockets to growing beans, hunting for nature's colours and even designing their own experiment, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

📱 **The Summer Science Challenge has also been uploaded to SeeSaw**, so you can easily access it throughout the holidays.

📸 We'd love to see what you get up to, so don't forget to:
✅ Take photos of your experiments.
✅ Draw or record your results.
✅ Bring everything back to school in **September** to share with your classmates.

Remember, science is all about being curious, asking questions, trying things out and learning from what happens—whether it works the first time or not!

We can't wait to see the amazing discoveries, creations and investigations our Brompton scientists make over the holidays.

Our Science Ambassadors and Rocket Competition winners had an unforgettable day exploring the world of engineering, tackling hands-on challenges and putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test.

From building and racing LEGO® creations to seeing engineering in action, there were smiles, curiosity and plenty of memorable moments throughout the day.

We're so proud of how brilliantly our pupils represented Brompton Community Primary School! 🌟⚙️🚗

🚗⚙️ An Incredible STEM Day at Cummins Engineering! ⚙️🚗

Our Science Ambassadors and our four lucky Rocket Competition winners had an unforgettable day visiting Cummins Engineering for an inspiring STEM experience!

Throughout the day, the children:
🔧 Took on a LEGO engineering challenge to build a twin-cylinder engine, using teamwork, problem-solving and creativity.
🏭 Enjoyed a fascinating guided tour of the Cummins plant, where they saw real engineers and advanced manufacturing in action.
🏁 Put their design skills to the test in a Pinewood Derby challenge, building and racing LEGO cars to see whose design was the fastest!

The children represented Brompton Community Primary School exceptionally well. They demonstrated fantastic teamwork, resilience, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day, asking thoughtful questions and embracing every challenge with confidence. It was wonderful to see them inspired by the incredible engineering taking place around them.

A huge thank you to everyone at Cummins Engineering for giving our children such a memorable experience and for sharing your passion for engineering. Opportunities like this help bring science, technology, engineering and maths to life, inspiring the engineers, designers and innovators of the future.

We are incredibly proud of all of our Science Ambassadors and our Rocket Competition winners—you were outstanding ambassadors for our school! 🌟🚗⚙️

Today we got some very exciting news! 🚶‍♂️‍➡️🚶‍♀️‍➡️🏆

We have been awarded the Platinum Healthy Schools award for our work on Active travel. The healthy schools team were so impressed with our application that they want to use our school as a good practice example to other schools.

🎉 Calling all former Brompton families, pupils, staff and friends! 🐝💙💛

We've managed to keep it a secret (so far! 🤫), and now we'd love your help to make it a day to remember.

Join us on Tuesday 14th July, from 1.30pm–5.00pm, as our Summer Fair becomes a very special surprise retirement celebration for the wonderful Mrs Byrne after her many years of dedication to Brompton Community Primary School. If Mrs Byrne has ever taught your child, made you smile, or been part of your family's journey, we'd love to see you there!
