Let's Talk About Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD)

Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD) is a common childhood illness that spreads very easily, especially in young children. While most children recover within 7–10 days, symptoms can change from day to day, and no two children will experience it in exactly the same way.

As you'll see in our poster, spots and blisters often develop over several days. They may start as small red spots before becoming blisters, then dry up and heal. Some children only develop a few spots, while others may have many more.

By keeping your child at home while they are unwell, you are helping to protect everyone else. If your child is carrying the virus they can easily pass it on through coughs, sneezes, saliva, blister fluid and even after nappy changes. Although it can be inconvenient, allowing them time to recover before returning helps protect other children, their families and our staff, while also giving your little one the rest they need.

🎬 Cinema Trip – Next Monday! 🍿

Whoop! Next Monday the children will be heading to the cinema to watch Toy Story 5. We're all so excited for this special outing and can't wait to enjoy the adventure together.

To make the trip even more fun, Puddleducks will be providing complimentary cinema snacks for all the children, so there's no need to send any extra treats.

We're looking forward to a fantastic day full of fun, laughter and memories! 💛

Today we made the most of the beautiful sunshine and headed outdoors for a wonderful morning of nature-inspired learning! ☀️🌿

The children explored the environment, collecting natural treasures to create their own playdough collages. From colourful flowers and crunchy leaves to pine cones and sticks, every creation was unique. The activity was so engaging that some children remained deeply absorbed in their play for well over five minutes, showing fantastic levels of concentration and creativity.

We then enjoyed story time in the wooded area, listening carefully to our stories surrounded by nature. 📚🌳

Our little explorers loved discovering everything the outdoors had to offer. They searched for sticks of different sizes, collected leaves and pine cones, picked flowers, ran freely through the open space, and enjoyed games of hide and seek. It was a morning full of adventure, imagination, curiosity, and learning through play—making memories while connecting with the natural world. 🌼🍃

🌞 Puddleducks Summer Family Challenge! 🌞

With the summer holidays just around the corner, we'd love to invite all our families to take part in our Summer Family Challenge!

Why not complete a Joe Wicks kids workout together each day during the holidays? Just 10–20 minutes of movement can help children stay active, improve their coordination and confidence, support their physical and emotional wellbeing, and encourage healthy habits. Best of all, it's a fun way to spend quality time together and make special family memories.

If you'd like to join in, we'd love to see your photos or videos on our page! Alternatively, we'd love to hear all about your challenge and how you got on when you return to Puddleducks.

We'll send a few reminders and workout ideas closer to the holidays, but for now, why not start getting excited for the challenge? We can't wait to see how many families take part!
