Students are welcome to wear their CCF uniforms or the uniforms of other organisations (such as the scouts) they may belong to.
We give thanks for her extraordinary life, work and service to both our country and the Commonwealth.
We are extremely proud of the students’ hard work and teachers’ dedication over the last two years. The impact of the pandemic has been diminished through a level of application and effort to great learning and teaching that the Academy’s community can be proud of.
The first formal exams in two years were supported through a real commitment to catching up from the pandemic, with pupils staying for an extra lesson twice per week for the whole year, which has really paid dividends for their grades.
The support from our parents, pupils, and teachers to enable this has made the difference for these results and really place these in a brilliant place to develop further from here.
Our motto is “effort x failure = results” and this cohort of young people have exemplified this throughout the year to gain a set of results that they can be rightly proud of. To trust things will be alright when you have no reference point has been a real challenge for all. Yet the motto has held true as always for these wonderful young people who now can become whatever they desire.
Congratulations to everyone receiving their results today, we are super proud of you!
Mr Paddock
Year 11 students are able to pick up their exam results from TWA between 8:30am-11am. Results will be emailed to all students at their TWA email address at 10am. Any uncollected results will be posted home.
Year 10 English Literature students can collect their results between 11am-12pm.
If you require any further information regarding the collection of exam results, please contact [email protected]
We are extremely proud of the students’ hard work and dedication over the last two years. The students will now be moving on to a range of fantastic opportunities in a variety of areas.
As in previous years we have the vast majority of our students moving on to University courses and destinations of their choice, including a high percentage of Russell Group Universities. There are also a number of students taking up apprenticeships, with the rest of the cohort moving into full time work or taking a gap year to decide which path to take next.
Head students Joe Baines and Abi-Rose Lacey will now move onto their first choice destinations after achieving some fantastic results. Abi-Rose will commence her course in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Wi******er with Joe reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics at London School of Economics and Political Science after working as an Academic mentor at TWA during his Gap year from September 2022.
We are proud of all of our students’ outcomes, especially in the challenging climate of the last two years. Some notable results include:
Joe A*ABB - going on to study PPE at London School of Economics and Political Science
Roman D*D*D - going on to study Sport Management at University of Wi******er
Jade D*DD - going on to study Early Childhood studies at Swansea University
Caitlin DDD - going on to study Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation at University of Derby
Ellie A*BB - going on to study Biology at University of Southampton
Sam D*BB - going on to study International Business at Loughborough University
David ABB - going on to study Accounting and Finance at University of Exeter
Matt ABB - going on to study Accounting and Financial Management at Loughborough University
Mr Bissington, Head of Sixth Form, said “This is the eleventh results day I have now been a part of at the Wellington Academy and one of the days I am proudest of.
“Having seen their GCSEs cancelled in 2020 and then having to face additional challenges over their two years, the students have shown phenomenal resilience and determination to complete their courses to their best possible standard.
“The range of destinations demonstrates that students really can move into any field they set their heart on and I know all students are well equipped for whatever challenges may come their way moving forward.”
I take my hat off to each and every Year 13 student. They have come through extremely well as a group, and by developing key attributes such as independence, ambition and inquisitive thinking they can look forward to great futures. Well done all,
Mr Paddock

Opened 2009 In addition, our 2016 Ofsted report is further evidence that it has never been a better time to send your child to the school.
The Wellington Academy has been open since 2009 and is proud of its aspirational and inclusive educational offer. 2015 and 2016 were our best and second best results ever for both GCSE and 6th Form. However, so much more is possible with our fantastic young people and we are not afraid of pushing the bar even higher for them over the coming years. We are excited to announce that last week, Mr Wood signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of The Wellington Academy ✍️
The Covenant serves as a powerful public declaration of our unwavering commitment to providing the very best education for the remarkable children of Army families within our community 🏫💪
At The Wellington Academy, we recognise and appreciate the unique challenges that our service children face and we stand firm in our mission to support these incredible students, ensuring they receive the exceptional education they deserve 📚✨
The signing of the Armed Forces Covenant is not only a commitment but also a celebration of the incredible diversity and experiences that these service children bring with them to our school 🌍🌟 We believe in embracing and cherishing these diverse backgrounds, as they enrich our learning environment and create a stronger, more interconnected community. 🤝❤️

This week we took Year 12 to visit Oxford Brookes University. We were given a campus tour, a taster session on the sports courses, a student life talk from a current second year architecture student and a talk about how to choose a university and course.
It was a really interesting day and if there are any further questions please contact Ms Hockley on [email protected]
