Our Ladybird room made the most of the lovely weather and had a little walk over to the Perham Down rugby pitches this morning.
As you can see they enjoyed running around, following the white lines, looking for the Gruffalo, watching the clouds and drawing the tree's. How on earth did they cram so much in? Hopefully they will sleep well tonight 😊

Autumn has arrived here at Poppies with crunchy leaves, pumpkins and squashes and Harvest - we are looking forward to Parents and Carers joining us for lots of fun, Thursday 12th October from just after 9 to around 11. We also have the Children's Centre coming to play at Tidworth for our Open-day. All Welcome, please let your child's Room Supervisor know if you will be dropping in.

We had great fun in the garden this morning. The outside is just as important as the inside where offering the curriculum is concerned and we follow our children's interests where ever they are playing and learning.

We have recently emailed out to as many organisations as possible to ask for their support during Harvest Festival. Our food stocks continue to be critically low and we rely on this time of year to replenish our shelves for the winter ahead. Today we are celebrating Victoria’s 25years at poppies! We would like to thank you for all your hard work and dedication , Victoria has worked her way from practitioner , supervisor , curriculum lead , behaviour management and now a part of the management team.

Poppies Perham had an exciting visit from Sydenhams Building Merchants in Tidworth today. They have kindly delivered two huge bags of stone for us to develop our garden - the children were particularly excited to watch the crane in action! Thank you Sydenhams!

The Children at Poppies Perham have been really busy developing life skills and their fine-manipulative control. Pre-school have been making snack for all their friends in setting including carefully chopping fruit and sharing out equally. Our toddlers have been using big and small movements to make their mark, and our Snowdrops have been in the role-play kitchen and exploring the properties of sand and water.

Today Hope kindly came in to play the saxophone with the Butterflies an idea inspired by our story Stanley's Stick. We heard classics like the 'Pink Panther' and everyone had a go!

We have some information of activities running through September at our local Windmill Hill Children's Centre. The highlighted activities are based here in Tidworth.

Just a few pictures from our holiday club so far. The children have been so busy creating, and making things and going out and about in the local community, they even had a relaxing day doing each others nails and wearing face masks 💅

Now that we have a glimmer of sunshine you might be thinking about enjoying a picnic and making the most of it. Young children have a real threat of choking on certain foods because of their size and the size of your child's windpipe. You can manage this risk by cutting up those foods which have a higher risk for your child.
If you are sending in a packed lunch for your child please ensure that the food is prepared ready for your child to eat, so chopping grapes, cherry tomatoes, large blueberries in half, slicing sausages down the middle etc
Staff are always sat with the children while they eat but putting these measures in place will severely reduce the risk of your child choking, thank you

For all of those parents whose children are starting school next September now is the time to see if your preferred schools are doing open mornings and to checkout the Ofsted reports.
We would like to clarify that Poppies Daycare Nurseries are not closing. It is just unfortunately the Before & after school club and holiday club.
The holiday club is running up until 18th August as planned and the cottage will sadly be closed there after.

This time of year is always exciting but emotional as we say goodbye to the children.

Our Snowdrops room have enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine this morning so they have had their hit of vitamin D 🌞
As you can see they had a wonderful time exploring the environment, and taking part in some lovely physical activities with Shelle and Lea.
