Lincoln & District Sailing Association Lincoln and District Sailing Association (LDSA), a Royal Yachting Association Training Centre for dinghy sailing, powerboating and shore-based courses.

We are a group of volunteers who share a love of sailing and a commitment to provide opportunities for young people in our local schools to learn to sail safely and affordably. We aim to teach children the basic skills to sail safely for pleasure, to gain RYA qualifications or to enjoy the thrill of competition. The LDSA is self financing and runs on donations from participating schools, grants fr

om charitable organisations and funds raised by running adult courses. We are affiliated to Hykeham Sailing Club and enjoy a close relationship with the many competitive sailors who are always willing to pass on their knowledge and experience. The club provides changing and shower facilities

During the season throughout British Summer Time, we sail after school on most evenings and on many weekends.

A busy weekend at LDSA with six newly qualified powerboat drivers completing their Royal Yachting Association Powerboat Level 2 certificate. Thankyou to our excellent instructors, Howard and Shelagh, for teaching them the skills and knowledge they need to be safe and competent helms. We can't wait to see where their new qualification takes them!

Bookings are now live for our Swim Safe sessions.

Designed by the RNLI and Swim England, and ran by qualified RYA instructors, the sessions are designed to build young people's confidence in and around the water.

The session will guide young people through the Water Safety Code and allow them to practise key survival techniques in the water, all while wearing a buoyancy aid and under the watchful eye of the instructors.

Our RYA instructors recently completed their SwimSafe instructor training and are now qualified to deliver RYA/ SwimSafe sessions, helping local children and young people develop essential water safety knowledge, confidence and practical skills in a fun and supportive environment.

We're proud to be bringing these sessions to our community, helping more young people enjoy the water safely while building confidence and skills for life.

Staff development is essential to maintaining a safe and fun environment for our young sailors.
Last weekend we ran an RYA Safety Boat course covering all elements of craft rescue and recovery, in what was a very hands-on two days.

It was great to welcome to Beavers last night and help them achieve two new watersports-related badges. Well done all!
