It is the last week of lessons before the end of another school year! It has flown by. Art class has been such a pleasure, the children have enjoyed learning and making new friends whilst creating beautiful art. So proud of them 🌟

Here’s a wonderful little monochromatic watercolour exploring tone and creating distance (using just one colour) by a P5 pupil. Will post more over the next few days….watch this space….

One of the most satisfying projects ever - Cyanotype prints. The kids were amazed at the prints they made using things they picked outside, light sensitive paper and sunshine.

Top tip - the results look even more impressive in a frame! 💙

Everyone was delighted with their new sketch books and wasted no time decorating them beautifully and putting them to good use.

The holidays are almost over and it's back to school on Monday! I hope you all had an awesome Easter. Art Class starts again on Tuesday and I am looking forward to lots of colourful and creative fun.

I thought I would share some work we did last term with charcoal sticks. A tricky medium to work with but it was amazing seeing the different (and super easy) effects we could create and then working on some step by step drawings.

I can't believe another term is over already. We have had a great time with such a variety of projects. Here are some of the portraits we did - some children loved the concentration of making detailed drawings and some just wanted to have fun with collage, stickers and glue. Anything goes in my class - everyone was happy, had fun and left with a smile on their face which is what art is all about!

Looking forward to next term, have a great Easter break
