🦖 Dinosaur Week 🦕
What a fantastic week we've had exploring the world of dinosaurs! The children have enjoyed dinosaur paint printing, designing and creating their own dinosaurs, and learning about ammonites. They also made their own fossils from clay and loved investigating what fossils can tell us about the past.
Throughout the week, we shared lots of wonderful dinosaur stories that sparked curiosity, imagination, and discussion. The children especially enjoyed becoming excellent little paleontologists, carefully examining fossils and discovering more about these amazing prehistoric creatures.
Well done to all our budding dinosaur experts for their enthusiasm, creativity, and fantastic learning this week! 🦴🌋🦖

The children had a wonderful time getting creative today making colourful caterpillars from egg boxes and painting them!🐛🎨

Lots of painting, sticking and imaginative fun while developing fine motor skills and creativity. They are so proud of their fantastic creations! 🌈✨

Today our little learners had so much fun exploring butterflies and caterpillars through play dough printing! 🐛🦋
The children used play dough and different tools to create colourful prints, patterns, and textures while developing their fine motor skills, creativity, and imagination. We talked about the life cycle of a butterfly and discovered lots of beautiful designs along the way!
A lovely hands-on activity full of learning, creativity, and smiles 💚✨

Our caterpillars have arrived and the children are so excited to begin learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly 🐛🦋

Over the next couple of weeks we will be observing the changes closely, learning new vocabulary and discovering how tiny caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies.

We will also be exploring lots of different mini beasts through fun EYFS activities, stories, investigations 🐞🐜🐌

We can’t wait to share our learning journey with you all!

This week we have continued reading the lovely Handa’s Surprise. Yesterday, the children enjoyed matching the animals from the story to the book and learning about the different noises they make.
We also had lots of fun during our visit to the park, where the children were excited to see the ducks! Once back the children got creative and made their very own zebras. 🦓
A wonderful day full of storytelling, outdoor exploration, and creative activities!

Today we enjoyed a lovely walk along the canal, where we spotted boats drifting by and ducks paddling happily in the water 🦆🚤
Back in the setting, we explored pineapple using all our senses! The children had a go at feeling the rough skin, smelling the sweet fruit, helping to chop it up, and of course tasting it too 🍍

Handa’s Surprise Playdough Adventure! 🐘🍌
Today we brought the story of Handa’s Surprise to life using playdough, fruit, and animals! The children had so much fun recreating the journey—carefully choosing fruits, spotting sneaky animals, and using their imagination to retell the story.
From spikey pineapples to smooth oranges, our little learners explored textures, developed fine motor skills, and built their storytelling confidence through play 🌿✨
I loved seeing their creativity shine as they predicted which animal might take each fruit next!

We had a fantastic time at soft play, where everyone enjoyed climbing, sliding, and building their confidence through active play. So many smiles and lots of energy!
Afterwards, we visited the library and settled down to read a few stories together 📚✨ The children listened beautifully and really enjoyed exploring different books.
A wonderful day of fun, learning, and imagination! 💛
