Our Reception pupils had a fantastic day on their school trip to Eureka! The National Children's Museum in Halifax. The children enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits, taking part in hands-on activities, and learning through play. From discovering how things work to using their imagination in the different themed areas, there were smiles, excitement, and lots of wonderful learning opportunities throughout the day. A big thank you to our staff and volunteers who helped make the trip such a success. We hope the children have enjoyed sharing their adventures with you at home! 🚌👀👨‍⚕️🚴‍♀️🚧☎️🚽🧠🛀

🚓👮 Meet the Police at Normanton Common After School Club.

Calling all young police officers in the making. Come and meet your local police team at Normanton Common After School Club on Tuesday 23rd June at 4:00pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to say hello, ask questions, and learn more about the people who help keep our community safe.

Best of all, the officers will be bringing their police car along for children to see up close 🚔

🌟 After School Club Weekly Round-Up 🌟

Another fantastic week we’ve had at After School Club.

This week, we got creative and crafted our very own glitter birds 🐦🦜✨, showing off some amazing imagination and artistic skills.

We also enjoyed some baking fun in the kitchen, making delicious chocolate Toy Story cupcakes 🧁🤠 that looked almost too good to eat.

To round off the week, we relaxed with our friends and watched Toy Story 4 🎬 while enjoying some yummy food together. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and special moments shared throughout it.

It’s been a week full of creativity, friendship, tasty treats, and lots of fun! We can’t wait to see what adventures this week brings.

☀️ SUMMER NON-UNIFORM DAY ☀️

This Friday (19th June), we’re inviting all children to come to school in summer non-uniform - perhaps the summer clothes will force the sun and warm weather to come back 🤞🏼

In return for non-uniform, we ask that children bring in a bottle, of any kind, to contribute to our popular Bottle Tombola at the Summer Fair!

Please bring in any item that comes in a bottle - the bottle should be full and unopened. A range of items would be great!

Hepworth class have been budding scientists as they observe how plants change over time. 🌱 They have been carefully watching the cherry blossom tree in our school grounds, recording the changes they notice each month. This week, Hepworth class have been busy developing their geography skills while learning about the sun and weather. We explored how midday is usually the warmest part of the day because the sun is highest in the sky. ☀️ The children used their observation skills to describe weather patterns and think about how the sun’s position changes throughout the day. Working in partners, the children used a globe and a torch to model how the sun’s position affects temperature—fantastic teamwork and hands-on learning! 🌎🔦

🌍 Mahatma Gandhi 🌍
This week, Hepworth class have been learning all about the life of Mahatma Gandhi and why he is so important in history. The children discovered some of the key events in his life and how he helped to bring about change through peaceful actions. ✨
We talked about how Gandhi showed kindness, courage, and respect for others, and how his actions made a big difference in the world.
The children were really interested and were able to recall lots of facts and asked lots of thoughtful questions! 👏
