Pembrokeshire Powerboating and Sailing Academy Ltd - t/a PPSA

Pembrokeshire Powerboating and Sailing Academy Ltd - t/a PPSA PPSA caters for individual powerboating and keelboat sailing needs, tailoring bespoke, targeted training and delivering RYA qualifications.

The primary aim of the performance sailing academy will be to attract sailors who:

a. Will make specific trips to PPSA to undertake improver courses to enhance their basic knowledge

b. Have specific techniques they wish to improve

c. Habitually visit Pembrokeshire as part of their annual holiday and wish to improve their sailing techniques. By using suitable equipment, specialist knowledge,

advanced techniques and established coaching methodologies, the Performance Sailing Academy will develop skills in sailors with some prior knowledge, resulting in enhanced personal sailing skills. In addition to bespoke training, as a qualified RYA Coach/Assessor, Taff is able to deliver Dinghy Instructor and Advanced Instructor Training[1] at venues throughout the country as required by Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centres (RYA RTCs).

Once again, it's been a great couple of weeks at PPSA - 18 x Powerboat Level 2 Certificates, 2 x Day Skipper Theory qualifications, 4 x individuals undertaking Keelboat Introductions, 2 x Keelboat Level 1 Certificates issued and a couple of VHF Exams - and we're still in August! phew. Well done to all of those who have passed their courses; and of course, a very well done to the PPSA instructors who've been working hard to ensure all of our wonderful clients have had a great experience.

The fun isn't over, as we look into September, we have places available on:

Powerboat Level 2 - 3rd and 4th Sep - 1 place
Keelboat Instructor Endorsement - 1 place
Powerboat Level 2 - 7th and 8th Sep - 2 places
MCA Fire Safety Course - 10th Sep
RYA Radar Course - 11th Sep

Going into the Autumn, we'll be delivering RYA Advanced Powerboat and Yachtmaster/Coastal Skipper Theory courses and of course, we can arrange Certificate of Competence exams for those following the commercial career pathway.

Well, half way through the training out here. 9 trained, another 9 to go 🙂. The Safety Team out here are very keen and enthusiastic and lapping up the information and training being delivered. The weather is warm with a breeze each day so far. The liners that come in on nearly a daily basis are huge!
In the meantime, the Pembrokeshire Powerboating and Sailing Academy Team at Neyland continue to deliver professional, safe and diverse training, with a Powerboat course completed over the last couple of days and a keelboat course this weekend. In addition to our courses, we're also pleased to be supporting the Cleddau River Marathon Row with our RIB Gemini and sponsoring their media production of the race.

Looking into July, we have plenty of other practical and theory courses available, including Day Skipper Theory, First Aid, VHF Exams, Radar and MCA Fire Safety Courses. Please get in touch for more details. See less
