It was a pleasure to be part of the fabulous manner with which our pupils finished off a great season of hockey @ Model PS.
Thanks to Regent House School, Mrs Ryan & Mr Gray for bringing yesterday’s blitz event together.
We couldn’t have asked for more from the boys and girls. They all showed incredible grit, determination and tenacity throughout all of their matches. Like a great Holywood blockbuster the matches had everything from drama to sadness, even a couple of real nail-biters!
Additional special mentions to the mums who also helped out today and to our retiring P7 pupils for their commitment to hockey during their time with us.
We appreciate everyone who contributes to hockey at our school.

Science experiment in P3 with vinegar and baking soda-using simple household ingredients to simulate an eruption through an acid-base reaction. By mixing baking soda (base) and vinegar (acid), carbon dioxide gas is produced, creating foam and "lava" that erupts from a container hidden inside our volcano . The children’s faces say it all ! 💕

One of the questions we were thinking of for Science Week was, “what makes the best design for a paper plane?” We set this challenge to the children and this afternoon we had our first ever Newtonards Model paper plane competition! Two winners from each class competed in our grand final and big congratulations to James, Austin and Theo who were our top three overall!

As part of Science Week and linking in with our Italy & The Romans topics, P3Y enjoyed erupting Mount Vesuvius. We used vinegar, baking soda and Fairy liquid for our experiment to see how the different substances would react. Everyone had great fun!

Another act of kindness from Scrabo Service Station!
A wonderful treat arrived in school before lunch today courtesy of one of our school dads, Ryan Patterson.
Ryan left in ice lollies for all the children and staff too.
From us all here at school, thank you for your generosity.
Be sure to support and shop local!
