In a pretty village, quiet and fair,
Childrenβs laughter fills the air.
The women weave, the men all toil,
Hands in craft, heart in soil.
Young Elara loved the well of ancient stone;
It hummed with secrets of its own.
She leaned to hear its whispered call,
She felt the pull, the magical thrall.
Come away, O human child,
To the waters and the wild,
With a fairy hand in hand,
To an old and secret land.
She leaned too far, a startled cry,
Down she slipped, tumbling earth and sky.
She rose to eyes as warm as sun,
Where song and dance entwined as one.
Above, the men with lanterns raised,
Planned a rescue the women praised.
They thought her stolen, innocence spent,
So down the well they bravely went.
They found her safe among the fey,
Weaving olden dances, with no threat or fray.
But home from fairy land she must go,
The wells enchantment fading slow.
In the village, all seemed right,
The world restored to calm and light.
But in her eyes a shimmer stays,
Remembering the dances in moonlit rays.
Come away, O human child,
To the waters and the wild,
But hold the daylight warm and trueβ
Remember home sings magic too.
