Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course

MCP First Aid Training is delivering the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course on 24/06/2026.

This regulated one-day qualification is designed for individuals who require emergency first aid skills in the workplace and covers:

* Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
* Scene assessment and casualty assessment
* CPR and AED use
* Recovery position
* Choking management
* Seizures
* Burns
* Shock
* Bleeding and minor injuries
* Unresponsive casualties

Successful learners will receive a nationally recognised certificate valid for 3 years. The course meets workplace first aid requirements and is suitable for low-risk working environments.

NEW COURSE AVAILABLE FROM MCP First Aid Training

MCP First Aid Training is now approved to deliver the Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and the Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF).

This regulated qualification provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to:

* Assess an emergency situation safely
* Recognise and manage an unresponsive casualty
* Perform effective CPR
* Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
* Place a casualty in the recovery position
* Recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
* Administer emergency treatment for anaphylaxis, including the use of adrenaline auto-injectors
* Provide effective care until the arrival of emergency services

The qualification is suitable for workplace first aiders, healthcare staff, community groups, sports clubs, education settings, and anyone wishing to develop life-saving skills. Successful learners receive a nationally recognised regulated certificate valid for 3 years.

Motorcycle First Aid Training – Delivered by MCP First Aid Training

At MCP First Aid Training, we provide comprehensive Motorcycle First Aid training designed specifically for motorcyclists, motorcycle groups, clubs, and organisations.

This course equips riders with the knowledge and practical skills required to manage medical emergencies and traumatic injuries commonly encountered at road traffic collisions and motorcycle incidents.

Topics covered include:

* Scene safety and casualty assessment

CPR / AED usage on female casualties

Recent data suggests that women are around 27% less likely to receive bystander CPR than men, hesitation is often linked to uncertainty about touching or exposing the female’s chest, removing clothing, or placing defibrillator pads correctly.

The Resuscitation Council UK advises that if someone is wearing a bra, it may be possible to adjust or lift the fabric so the pads can be placed correctly on bare skin without delay; however, if the bra interferes with correct pad positioning, it should be removed or cut away.

In practical terms, the quickest and clearest way to apply AED pads is often to cut or remove the bra, especially where it obstructs the correct pad position.

Students should understand that they do not need to feel embarrassed or hesitate: preserving life is the priority. Once the pads are in place, clothing can be placed back over the chest where possible to help preserve dignity without delaying treatment.
