⚽ FREE McDonald’s Fun Football – 6-Week Programme! ⚽

The Irish FA Foundation and McDonald’s are offering children aged 5–11 the chance to take part in a FREE 6-week Fun Football programme.

The sessions are designed as a fun and welcoming introduction to football, so they’re perfect for children who would like to give football a try for the first time – no previous experience needed! 🙌⚽

Centres are available across Northern Ireland, including dedicated Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) centres.

⭐ Places are very popular and fill quickly, so early registration is recommended.

📢 Introducing our new Abbots Cross Newsletter!

We’re delighted to share the first edition of our brand-new Abbots Cross Sway Newsletter.

This is something new for our school and will be shared every half term, giving parents and families one easy place to find important dates, upcoming events, school news, reminders and key information.

We have also started work on an exciting new school website, and future editions of our Sway will be embedded directly on the homepage, making it even easier for families to keep up to date with school life.

As we move from our current website to the new one, there may be a short period when we are between the two sites. We will let parents know in advance when the current website is due to be taken down and will continue to share important information through our usual communication channels during the transition.

📱 A quick tip when viewing the Sway: look out for the menu button in the bottom right-hand corner. This opens a drop-down menu which allows you to quickly navigate to any section of the newsletter.

A reminder of times tomorrow:

Group A: 8.50-10.50am

Group B: 11.45 - 1.45pm

These times will run until Friday 4th September. Please bring a small healthy snack.

With a sad heart, we announce the retirement of Mrs Horner, due to ill health.

Mrs Horner joined us in November last year and was an integral part of our Garden Room team. She brought with her many years of experience and a dedication that was clear to see. The children in our specialist provision classes have benefited from her kindness and patience in so many ways and we will greatly miss her. We wish her good health and many happy days ahead. 💙💛

Today, we want to extend a huge thank you to Suzanne Magill, who is stepping down from her role on the Abbots Cross Primary School Board of Governors.
For more than 10 years, Suzanne has been a pillar of our school community. Her commitment, wisdom, and genuine care for our pupils and staff have left a lasting mark on Abbots Cross. Whether navigating school challenges or celebrating our successes, Suzanne has always put the best interests of our children at the heart of every decision.
