Joe Wilton wins Medalion of Excellence at World Skills China 2026.
Joe put a massive effort into the 4 days of competition. He had to remove and replace an "A" post inner section with inner wing and support panel, replace a quarter panel, remove and re-align 2 wings doors and bonnet, carry out 2 types of plastic repair to a bumper, carry out a metal finish and a PDR repair all within a time frame of 22 hours. He remained in the top 5 throughout the competition and his final mark reflects how close he was to the best in the world. China dominated the competition throughout but they practice for 2 years without any other work commitments. When reflected in that light we hope everyone can appreciate how well Joe has done.

Big congratulations to him and his training manager from all at Riverpark Training.👏👏

A great start to the week at Riverpark as we hosted our first 2026 intake induction.

Students were introduced to our team of dedicated tutors, gained insight into the standards we uphold, and learned what it means to begin a career in the motor industry.

Their journey has officially begun — and we’re looking forward to supporting them every step of the way.

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting another careers advisor visit, welcoming advisors and managers from several local council areas. They spent time exploring what we offer here at Riverpark and discovering what makes our approach unique.

Our visitors gained valuable insight into the evolving motor industry — especially the rapid growth of the electric vehicle market — and had the chance to meet our 2025 Body Repair students, who shared their experiences of transitioning from school into apprenticeship life.

Colin also listened to the challenges advisors face when helping young people find the right post‑school pathway, offering practical guidance on how these can be overcome.
A genuinely valuable and insightful visit for everyone involved.

A great day at Riverpark Training yesterday!

We were delighted to welcome our local Belfast careers advisors to Riverpark to give them a real insight into what we offer young people who want to build a career in the motor industry.

They spent time with Colin, who explained why Riverpark believes so strongly that not all young people thrive in a traditional school environment — and that’s okay. Many have incredible hands‑on ability, practical talent and huge potential. That’s why we treat every applicant as an individual and focus on helping them find the path that suits them best.

The advisors also had the chance to meet our 2025 MET and Light Vehicle students and see first‑hand what a day at Riverpark looks like. It was a brilliant opportunity for them to witness the progress these young people have already made since starting their journey into the motor industry.

A big thank you to the careers advisors for taking the time to visit — and to our students for showing exactly why we’re so proud of what we do.
