A great start to the week at Riverpark as we hosted our first 2026 intake induction.

Students were introduced to our team of dedicated tutors, gained insight into the standards we uphold, and learned what it means to begin a career in the motor industry.

Their journey has officially begun — and we’re looking forward to supporting them every step of the way.

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting another careers advisor visit, welcoming advisors and managers from several local council areas. They spent time exploring what we offer here at Riverpark and discovering what makes our approach unique.

Our visitors gained valuable insight into the evolving motor industry — especially the rapid growth of the electric vehicle market — and had the chance to meet our 2025 Body Repair students, who shared their experiences of transitioning from school into apprenticeship life.

Colin also listened to the challenges advisors face when helping young people find the right post‑school pathway, offering practical guidance on how these can be overcome.
A genuinely valuable and insightful visit for everyone involved.

A great day at Riverpark Training yesterday!

We were delighted to welcome our local Belfast careers advisors to Riverpark to give them a real insight into what we offer young people who want to build a career in the motor industry.

They spent time with Colin, who explained why Riverpark believes so strongly that not all young people thrive in a traditional school environment — and that’s okay. Many have incredible hands‑on ability, practical talent and huge potential. That’s why we treat every applicant as an individual and focus on helping them find the path that suits them best.

The advisors also had the chance to meet our 2025 MET and Light Vehicle students and see first‑hand what a day at Riverpark looks like. It was a brilliant opportunity for them to witness the progress these young people have already made since starting their journey into the motor industry.

A big thank you to the careers advisors for taking the time to visit — and to our students for showing exactly why we’re so proud of what we do.

🌟🏆 Riverpark Apprentice Selected for UK WorldSkills Team 🏆🌟

Huge congratulations to Joe Wilton 👏🎉 who has secured a place on the UK WorldSkills Team !

Joe, who completed his Level 3 training with Riverpark Training 🎓 and is employed by SDM Paintwork 🚘, will represent the UK in Autobody Repair 🔧🎨 at the WorldSkills competition in Shanghai 🇨🇳 this September.

After a tough selection process — including achieving the equivalent of a silver medal 🥈 in the Far East — Joe’s success is a true reflection of his skill, dedication and hard work 💪✨.

This is a fantastic example of what apprenticeships and strong employer support can achieve 👏👨‍🔧. We’re proud to support Joe as he prepares to represent Northern Ireland 🌍 and the motor industry on the world stage! 🚀

📍 Careers Insight Day at Riverpark Training

Today, Riverpark Training was delighted to welcome Careers Advisers and Careers Managers from the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon area to our campus.
Riverpark continues to work closely with careers professionals across Northern Ireland to ensure school leavers and those exploring new opportunities are fully aware of the career pathways available within the motor industry.

As part of this collaboration, visitors had the opportunity to see first-hand the training and progression routes on offer at Riverpark. During the visit, advisers met with our 2025 Body Repair students and observed them working in the workshop environment, gaining valuable insight into the practical skills being developed and the high standard of training delivered.

The visit highlighted the importance of early engagement with young people and the vital role careers professionals play in guiding them towards sustainable, skilled employment.
With ongoing skills shortages affecting workshops across the region, apprenticeships are more important than ever. Employers are strongly encouraged to support and invest in up‑and‑coming students — not only to fill immediate vacancies, but to retain essential skills, knowledge and experience within the industry for the future.
