𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 🏔️💪

We’re incredibly pleased that these guys are taking on the Ben Nevis challenge to raise much-needed funds for our school! 🎉

They’ll be putting their legs — and determination! — to the test as they climb the UK’s highest mountain, all in support of our pupils and school.

Our pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic educational trip to the Ulster Museum. Throughout the day, pupils had the opportunity to explore a wide range of fascinating exhibitions, from local history and ancient artefacts to art, nature, and science displays. 🏛️

KS2 pupils were curious to visit the remains of Takabuti, as they had been studying the Egyptians in their History lessons. ⚰️

KS3 pupils were able to look at the Troubles exhibition and the moving displays there. 💔

Our school Science Fair was held in December. The topic selected was “𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬”.

Dr Jonathan Cole, QUB was the chosen judge. He heard each of the presentations from Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils. The winning presentation in the Primary School was on Charles Babbage from Elijah and Ezra’s presentation on Isaac Newton gained second place. The winning presentation in the Secondary School was from Seth on Leonardo da Vinci. Second place was gained by Andrew with his presentation on James Watt.

Dr Cole added his comments about the Science Fair - “It was a great pleasure to attend your school and to judge the science competition. The extent of the work undertaken by the pupils was most impressive. This includes the background research, the interactive displays and the thought given as to how to communicate their knowledge. That each pupil had a different project centred on a different historical figure gave everyone a great opportunity to learn from their peers’ work as well as their own. The pupils were all very respectful and had great enthusiasm for science. The school is a flourishing community of active learners and dedicated teachers.”

We thank Dr Jonathan Cole for the time spent and the effort put into judging each pupil’s work.
