Today we said goodbye to Kids World Out Of School Club after more than 24 years of providing an after school and holiday club in Newtown.

We’ve had so much fun over the years with so many workshops, activities and outings.

This may be the end of Kids World but the memories and friends we have all made along the way will stay with us.

A massive thanks to all my staff who’ve worked at club over the years but a special mention to Amy Jones who’s been a constant as the Play Leader or deputy over the last 16 years.

And of course thank you to all the wonderful families that have been part of the Kids World family!

❤️ Goodbye Little World ❤️

Today we say goodbye to Little World after 25 years on Milford Road.

We’ve had hundreds if not thousands of children through our doors since we first opened, and it was a huge achievement to mark our 25th anniversary earlier this year.

But next week we begin a new and exciting chapter as Curious World, following our merger with Canbee Curious.

We look forward to settling into our new surroundings, and to the wealth of opportunities our move will bring for the children in our care.

I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all our nursery families and my amazing staff team for coming on this journey.

Applications are open to join our Reception class next September 2025 and we are opening our doors on Tuesday 5th November for visits for new parents and children.
No need to book, just turn up at either ☀️9:15am, ☀️10:15am or ☀️11:15am and come and see what’s on offer! 💚🌳 Staff and children will be on hand to show you all around and give you a ‘first class’ experience 👌

Primary School Admissions

Do you need to apply for a place in Reception at Primary School in September 2025?

If so, the Primary School Admission Round for learners born between 01/09/2020 – 31/08/2021 opens on Tuesday 1 October 2024.

Parents/Carers need to complete an online application at https://en.powys.gov.uk/article/1158/Applying-for-a-School-Place

Applications need to be made by the deadline of Monday 6 January 2025.

Primary Common Offer Date is Wednesday 16 April 2025.

The 3+ children were very lucky to have made links with St Mary’s primary school last week. We went to explore and learn in their lovely Forest School where we had lots of new learning experiences, including using power tools to create our own necklaces and medals.

🌟25 years🌟

Today marks 25 years since we opened the doors of Little World for the first time!

So much has changed in the world in a quarter of a century, and it’s been no different for us. We started out renting a few rooms in the church, but have since bought and converted the whole building, more than doubling the number of children we can care for.

We opened Kids World Out of School Club in 2000 and have continued to grow and adapt to the changing world of childcare.

But one thing that’s remained constant is the fantastic staff team I have had supporting me, including many who have been here almost since the start. I couldn’t do it without them!

Hundreds of children from Newtown and the surrounding areas have passed through our nursery since 1999 - and some of the first children we cared for have now come back to us with their own little ones!

It is an honour to have been a part of so many families’ journeys, and we hope to continue providing quality childcare here for many years to come.
