What a fab week we’ve had, there has been cardboard box play painting it then using it to crash into with our bikes, we turned one into a bean bag target and then later decided to cut it up and use it to slide on the tarp.
We have also enjoyed looking for snails and seeing which one was the fastest.
Tarp fun with bubbles even the staff enjoyed a go. We made a den, enjoyed races, potion play, we popped over to the school yard to ride our bikes and have a go on their climbing wall and to end the week enjoyed snack on the camp fire.

Inside there’s been lots of dancing getting our bodies moving, we went up to the hall to use the equipment challenging ourselves to jump and climb , and also keep the giant rugby ball from touching the ground.
We have also made new playdough, enjoyed role play, Mr Picken popped into the setting to show the children a Hornet, we also had one of our tadpoles turn into a frog, we enjoyed have morning tea and toast in the best china and luckily no breakages.

We have had a lovely week before the break for Easter🐣.
This week we celebrated another Birthday but a staff member this time Miss Lia.
We have been busy, playing matching Egg hunts, making Easter cards, cooking choc Easter cakes. There has been lots of mark making and numicon, challenging themselves and taking risks riding bikes down the bank, mud kitchen play, painting, woodwork, we had a treat with glitter tattoos. Lots of potion play trying to find ways to make new colours and lots of fun on the stage.
We also had visits from our new children and look forward to them joining us after Easter.

What a busy week we’ve had there has been lots of celebrations including 2 birthdays and Eid Mubarak. We have been enjoying the sunshine there has been lots of woodwork, sand play, challenging themselves on bikes, enjoying our new stage area a huge thank you to Brody’s Nan Debbie for making this for the children. We have enjoyed looking for bugs we found lots of ladybirds and a snail.
We also have enjoyed a visit to the park, had a fire with toast for snack and enjoyed having our faces painted.
Inside there has been playdough making, role play, puzzles, St Patricks Day, creative with junk modelling after talking about how we recycle rubbish.
The children have enjoyed seeing the next stage in the frog cycle with the eggs (frogspawn) hatching and becoming tadpoles.

This week we have enjoyed learning about frogs and a big Thank you to Miss Allen for giving us some frog spawn. It’s been a windy few days but the children have loved being out and it’s provided lots of opportunities for learning about forces, language development and gross, motor skills.
Miss Jones made some streamers with the children.
Also this week we planted sunflowers which the children gave as a gift for Mother’s Day they also were given the opportunity to make cards.
We have also filled our bird feeders, done lots of mark making, played board games , lots of role play, making dens, sand pictures, had fun with paint bags, enjoyed experimenting with magnets.

The last two weeks has flown by here are some things we have been doing. Planting, lots of mark making, building with blocks, enjoyed celebrating St David’s Day, we tried Welsh cakes for snack made Leek and Potato soup, and face painting welsh Dragons.
Making playdough, lots of role pay, celebrating Ramadan lots of outdoor play, finding lady birds, sand play, making musical instruments in the woodwork area, obstacle courses.
We celebrated the end of Chinese New Year with trying noodles and prawn crackers and talking about the lantern festival.
We celebrated World Book Day the children enjoyed dressing up and bringing in their favourite Stories.

Last week we enjoyed celebrating a polish tradition for a little girl in our setting called Tlusty Czwartek (Fat Thursday) it’s the last Thursday before lent where polish families enjoy rich foods such as Doughnuts and sweet treats.
We also enjoyed painting our hands to make valentines keepsakes but the children enjoyed the sensory fun in just painting their hands and Miss Davies.
There has been lots of role play, and transporting soft furnishings to make comfy areas.
Building and constructing with wooden blocks and magnetic blocks.
Fun ,enjoying new experiences for some children and developing gross motor skills climbing the bank and sliding on the tarp.
With all this wet weather what better way to end the week with some puddle jumping.

This week we have been busy taking part in national story telling week, and number day.
The children have been excited about the birds visiting the setting after putting out our bird feeders last week.
Inside we have been busy in the craft area painting, enjoying lots of role play, ready steady music we even observed the children doing it independently which was lovely.
Lots of story telling with some of a favourite stories and acting them out. Creating in the blocks and duplo mark making on the interactive board.
Outside there has been lots of water play, going on bear hunts at the beginning of the week the children enjoyed finding snow and going on a scavenger hunt.
There has been lots of water play, splashing in puddles and we ended the week with a walk. Trying to find objects on our list.

Some fantastic learning through play this week. We have been busy learning about St Dwynwen Day making cards, so much role play, dressing up, doctors that involved lots of mark making with purpose.
Decorating cardboard to make a house the children enjoyed helping to create this, they enjoyed finding objects around the setting to have in there house, ( transporting schema) there was lots problem solving, compromising and sharing.
We had a lovely visit from Miss Williams and her beautiful newborn daughter Aurora.
Also this week the children enjoyed playing board games, memory games and matching games and water games all developing listening skills and turn taking. We have enjoyed learning about birds and enjoyed making bird feeders.
Outside there was splashing in puddle fun, using the school outdoor area, fun on the tarp slide that turned into a mud slide, we enjoyed hanging out our bird feeders.
We ended the week with Birthday celebrations for Miss Davies.

Another great week settling in our new starters. There has been lots of physical play sliding down tarp, running games and obstacle courses. Children being creative making snowmen pictures and painting.
Outside we loved finding ice and ways to melt or crush it. There has also been lots of trajectory play sliding cars down the guttering. Also outside there has been lots of music and performing on the stage, water play, sand play and mud kitchen creations.
Inside we have enjoyed lots of stories, playdough, role play and mark making.
On Friday some of the children helped prep and cook their lunch.
They all really enjoyed it.
