👋 HELLO & WELCOME TO NYP! 💜

We’ve had a fair few new parents and followers join us recently, so I thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce myself and, over the next few posts, introduce you to the wonderful team behind NYP Academy!

I’m Freya, Founder & Principal of NYP Academy. I started NYP back in 2015 because I wanted to create somewhere young people could not only learn to sing, dance and act, but somewhere they could build confidence, make friends, feel supported and truly belong.

More than 10 years later, that is still at the heart of everything we do. 💜

As a mum myself and someone who has spent my career working with children and young people, creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment is incredibly important to me. Alongside my performing arts and teaching qualifications, I’ve continued to train in safeguarding, SEND, wellbeing, first aid and child development so that the children in our care are supported as individuals — not just as performers.

My absolute favourite part of NYP is watching a child walk through our doors unsure of themselves and seeing them gradually find their confidence, their people and their place on the stage. ✨

Whether you’ve been part of NYP for years or you’ve only just found us — welcome! We’re so glad you’re here.

🍫✨ WE’RE STILL HERE! ✨🍫

We’ve been a little quiet on our socials since breaking up for the summer, but don’t worry… NYP Academy is still very much here! 💛

Behind the scenes, we’re already getting excited for our next BIG production…

🎩🍭 CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY! 🍫🍬

Yesterday we had a brilliant day at Montgomery Show, where we were fundraising to help bring our next production to life! 🎭 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came over, had a go, supported our stall or simply stopped for a chat. Every penny raised goes towards making the show as magical as possible for our cast. 🌟

🎉A massive thank you to these wonderful girls who were raising money on the stall yesterday 🎉

Our summer break might mean a little rest from classes, but there’s plenty bubbling away behind the scenes at NYP… 👀

We can’t wait to get everyone back together in September and start the journey to the chocolate factory! 🍫🏭

Dear Jessie Roberts,

I still remember the little 6-year-old girl I met over 10 years ago, full of dreams, determination, and the biggest smile. Watching you grow into the incredible young lady and talented dancer you are today has been such a privilege.

Through every rehearsal, every challenge, every achievement, you’ve never stopped working hard or believing in yourself. And now, here you are… ranked in the Top 20 in the world. What an unbelievable achievement.

No matter where your journey takes you next, I hope you always remember just how proud everyone is of you. You’ve shown that with dedication, resilience, and passion, amazing things really can happen.

Congratulations, Jessie. You truly deserve every second of this success.

The little girl I met all those years ago has grown into a world-class dancer, and I couldn’t be prouder.

Thank you for believing in me as your teacher over all these years. It has been an honour to be part of your journey, to watch you grow, and to help you chase your dreams. Seeing everything you’ve achieved makes me prouder than words can say.

Dance creations competition …

We are so proud of every single dancer who stepped onto the stage and represented NYP Academy with confidence, passion and professionalism.

An incredible day saw us bring home:

🏆 27 awards in total!

A huge congratulations also to Cadi, who was also selected as a Champ of Champs Dancer – such a fantastic achievement! 👑

To top it all off, we were honoured to receive a Costume Award too! ✨

Thank you to our amazing teachers, parents and supporters for everything you do. Most importantly, well done to every one of our dancers – we couldn’t be prouder! 💜🖤
