Getting EGGscited for the annual easter egg hunt at the school! This year we are inviting along the children from Minnigaff Community Nursery who will be going into P1 after the summer to hunt for their own decorated egg with a little bunny bag treat waiting for them all!

If you are a parent or carer and have children ready to start primary school, you could be entitled to over £300 of financial support.

School Age Payment can help with the cost of preparing for school and used to buy anything your child might need including clothes, stationery and school trips.

Primary 1 enrolment this week. See below for details.

Children in Scotland usually start school between the ages of 4 years 6 months and 5 years 6 months old. All children who are 4 years old at the start of the school year can defer and start primary one the following year.

Parents/carers are asked to attend their catchment school to request a place at either their catchment school or a non-catchment school for their child(ren). Parents/carers are required to bring along proof of address and the child’s date of birth and baptismal certificate/supporting letter (for Roman Catholic schools only), between Monday 2 February and Friday 6 February.

Details of catchment schools can be found at https://www.dumfriesandgalloway.gov.uk/schools-learning/schools/primary-schools/primary-school-place. Enrolment by the appropriate date is particularly important in light of the legislation regarding parents' choice of school to be attended.
