📚📚📚A Wonderful World Book Day📚📚📚

We have had such a fabulous day celebrating reading in our school. We were blown away by the amazing costumes and the wonderful story jar entries.

The children loved welcoming their grown ups into school for a special booknic! We hope that you all had a fantastic time!

Reading is such an important part of our school and we think it’s only right to take a day to celebrate it!

🪄🪄🧙‍♀️🧙You’re a Wizard Harry🧙🧙‍♀️🪄🪄

Our children asked us to do more to celebrate reading in school if they made a commitment to reading more! 📚📚📚

We decided to throw a Harry Potter themed celebration for those children that met their personalised reading targets for the half term!

Well done to all of the children that earned their tickets! This will be a half termly event so all children will have the opportunity to attend! The children have already given me some great ideas for the next theme!

I had a wonderful afternoon with children from reception to year 6 and cannot wait for our next celebration already!

Tomorrow, each class will draw a leaf from their reading tree collection and the lucky winner will get to visit our special vending machine!

Our reception class have loved learning all about lunar/chinese New Year as part of our celebrations topic!

We even performed a ribbon dance, dragon parade and had a Chinese banquet to end our topic!

How fantastic are our youngest children? I hope that they told you all about it!

THIRD YEAR OF INCLUSION QUALITY MARK FLAGSHIP!!!
I am delighted and proud, to be able to share with you our Flagship report, for the Inclusion Quality Mark for the third year running.
At St Mary's, we appreciate and enjoy celebrating each year our successes, hard work and our school's commitment, to providing a range of opportunities to our children.

As an Inclusion Quality Mark Flagship school, we promote equal opportunities for ALL pupils, whatever their age, gender, ethnicity, attainment and background.

The Inclusion Quality Mark pays particular attention to the provision made for, and the achievement of, different groups of pupils within a setting.
Our assessor had a great day celebrating our fabulous school and our amazing pupils, staff and school which sits at the heart of the local community.
