Important notice.

From Wednesday 2 September, Baby and Me drop in at Best Start Family Hub Newton Aycliffe is returning to two sessions. These will run on Wednesdays at:
9.00am to 10.30am
11.00am to 12.30pm

Baby and Me is for children from birth to one year old and there is no need to book - just come along and join in.

We have an exciting programme of activities planned for September so keep an eye on Facebook for updates.

Best Start Family Hub Newton Aycliffe are running Incredible Years Pre-School this autumn.

Incredible Years Pre-School helps you to strengthen the interactions and attachment between you and your child as well as supporting you to build your child's social, emotional and language skills.

You will learn how to help your child to regulate their emotions and build social skills, such as turn taking and sharing. You will also learn how to use positive praise, model problem solving and practice self-control and calm down strategies.

It will also prepare you to get your child ready for starting school.

Incredible Years Pre-School runs for 14 weekly sessions starting on Thursday 10 September 2026 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

The Department of Education is funding free Fun and Food sessions at the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe, Carer's Way, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, DL5 4SF this summer, working in partnership with Durham County Council .

Families can enjoy a range of creative and fun experiences, including hydrotherapy pool fun with water toys and games, as well as a variety of garden crafts, activities and games. Each session also provides a free warm meal and healthy snacks.

Join us for exciting activities every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout August. Sessions will take place from 10am to 2pm.

There is 12 spaces per session and children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Eligible families can book a free space using the QR code and booking link provided by schools. What a last week of term it has been! Our 0-2 room had a stay and play for the parents, we hade lots of fun playing together, had a nursery party and a colour run. Not to mention our oldest children graduated ready to leave us for ‘big school’ and celebrated with fun at Ruff ‘n’ tumble.
We hope everyone has a lovely summer 😎

Looking for something to do in the hols…..pop along to our Family hub

Get ready to boogie at Best Start Family Hub Newton Aycliffe on Thursday 20 August 2026 from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.

Show off your best dance moves with Nicky Noo Noo's disco followed by some arts and crafts. Snacks will be available.

For the duration of the summer holidays, there will be only one session of Baby and Me drop in at Best Start Family Hub Newton Aycliffe on Wednesdays at 9.30am to 11.00am.

There will still be fun themed activities each week to help your baby's development and the chance to chat to other parents and our staff.

If you normally come to the later session, you are very welcome to join the 9.30am group over the summer. No need to book, just come along and join in.
