This September, two members of the NC Group team, John and Harry, will take on one of the world's biggest and most iconic half marathons, the AJ Bell Great North Run 2026, in support of Quinn's Retreat.

The Great North Run takes runners from the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, across the iconic Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead and South Tyneside, before finishing on the stunning seafront at South Shields. It is physically and mentally demanding and requires months of training and commitment.

John and Harry are taking on this challenge to raise vital funds for Quinn's Retreat, a local charity providing peaceful breaks for individuals and families who have been bereaved or affected by su***de.

💗 They did it!

On Saturday, Becky Childs, Abby Bailey and Andrea Dodd completed an incredible walk, raising funds for the University Hospital of North Tees Breast Cancer Clinic.

Not only did they smash their fundraising target, but they smashed their half-marathon target, completing 18 miles, walking from Stokesley to Darlington!

They took on this challenge to support the women who rely on the clinic for vital care, treatment and support. Every pound raised will be donated to a service that provides exceptional care and promotes the importance of regular breast checks and early detection, something that can save lives.

The donations are still coming in, and the team would like to thank everyone who has supported them so far. Your generosity will make a real difference.

We were delighted to recently welcome Tommy Watson, Director for Veterans Affairs at Walking With The Wounded, to meet with Ian Nelson and Neil Mounsey.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss a range of Armed Forces-related initiatives, including the Armed Forces Covenant, the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), Social Value, and how we can work together to develop stronger pathways into training, skills development and sustainable employment for veterans and the wider Armed Forces community.

At NC Group, we hold the ERS Bronze Award and are a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant. We are committed to being a forces-friendly employer.
