For those of you with children leaving Decoy this year, we wish you all the very best for the future. 🫶

Thank you to everyone for your amazing support this year. Because of you, we’ve been able to bring even more exciting additions to the school, and we hope the children have loved them all.

We look forward to welcoming some new faces to our AGM on 14th September. We’ll also be sharing details of our Boohoo Woohoo dates very soon!

CLASS OF ’26 ✌️

🙌 AND IT’S DONE! 🙌

Eighteen months ago, a group of us came together to remove the old timber trail, which had served the school for over 20 years but was no longer safe or fit for purpose.

Today, we’re delighted to announce that Timber Trail 2.0 is complete!

This is a project that simply wouldn’t have been possible through the school budget alone coming in at about a £20,000 build, but thanks to the incredible support and fundraising efforts of our PTA, it has become a reality.

The new trail features safe rubber matting throughout, meaning it can be enjoyed all year round, whatever the weather.

The children have loved watching the build take shape, and we can’t wait to see them exploring and enjoying it for years to come.

Wow, wow, wow — what an amazing community to be part of! ❤️

🌟 PTA NEWS 🌟
🗓️ Monday 14th September 🗓️

‼️ 🚨 At the next AGM, Caz and I will be stepping back from our roles as Chair and Vice Chair. 🚨 ‼️
These roles will need to be filled for the PTA to continue

We have had an absolute blast over the last two and a half years, but we feel it is now time for some new ideas and fresh faces to come forward while we take a step back from these positions for a while.

We will both remain on the committee and continue to support whoever steps into these roles, but for now it is time to hand over the baton.

From both of us, thank you to the whole PTA team. The officers and committee members have made this such a fantastic experience, and everything we have achieved has only been possible because of the time, energy and enthusiasm that so many people have given. We have made friends for life and have loved being part of such a supportive and dedicated team.

To the wider Decoy community, thank you for always getting behind us and supporting the PTA. The last two years have seen record-breaking volunteer numbers and fundraising totals, and your support has continually helped us move forward and achieve more for the school.

We hope the community has enjoyed the discos, fayres, special event days and DecoyFest that the PTA has been proud to organise over the last few years. These events simply wouldn’t happen without a PTA, and they raise vital funds that benefit every child in our school community.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making the last two and a half years so memorable. We are excited to see what comes next for the PTA and look forward to supporting the new team in the future.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated via our JustGiving page to support the school’s air conditioning fundraising initiative.

To clarify, this was a school-led project and was not a PTA initiative. The PTA was not involved in sourcing, purchasing, organising or installing the air conditioning units. We simply made our existing JustGiving page available as an additional way for people to donate to the school’s appeal.

Thanks to your generosity, £2,749.50 was donated through the JustGiving page, and we can confirm that 100% of these funds have now been transferred to the school to support the project.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who chose to donate using the link.

Our JustGiving page has now returned to its usual purpose and will once again be used to support PTA fundraising and future PTA projects.

🎪 WOW... WE DID IT! 🎪

A huge THANK YOU to every parent, family member, volunteer and supporter who came along to DecoyFest and made our circus-themed summer fayre such an incredible success! ❤️

Thanks to your generosity, we're absolutely thrilled to announce that we raised an amazing £5,500 for Decoy Primary School! 🎉

Every ticket bought, game played, raffle entered, cake purchased and donation made has helped make a real difference. We couldn't have achieved this without our fantastic school community.

🌳 Even more exciting... work has already started on our brand-new Timber Trail! The transformation is underway and, if all goes to plan, it should be completed within the next few weeks. We can't wait to see our children enjoying it for years to come.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting the PTA and helping us create opportunities and experiences that benefit every child at Decoy Primary School.

A generous local business has offered us 15 air conditioning units for our classrooms at a significantly reduced cost, with delivery available immediately. However, we need to raise £4,500 to purchase and install them.

We are asking if any families, local businesses, or community members would be willing to make a donation. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us provide a safer and more comfortable learning environment for our children during the current heatwave and future periods of hot weather.
