Saxophone Lessons Newton Abbot Saxophone lessons for beginners in The Newton Abbot area
for adults between 20 - 80+ years young I then tailor your lessons for you.

I'm over in Spain ahead of a saxophone course with Snake Davis next week. Managed to pick myself up some gigs. I played 2 afternoons at Doyle's Corner, and Retro's Bar last night with a rebooking just before I fly home. Here's a short video of me playing in Doyle's.

Did a gig in Bristol on Saturday with the fab Ruby Jazz at a private party. It was great fun playing with them.

They can come along and have some fun trying out the saxophone.
Each voucher costs £25 for an hour lesson and use of a saxophone, you just decide how many you would like to give.
All lessons are designed to be fun and are great for beginners and returning players.

How is one of these your best practicing tool?
Pure and simple, because you'll leave your saxophone out. If you find you've got a spare 10 minutes while your tea cooks in the oven, before your favourite tv programme comes on or a break from chores then having your saxophone sat there waiting makes it easy to pick up and have a quick play. If you'd left it in its case then it wouldn't have happened. Quick, short practice sessions are far easier to fit into your busy day and you'll see much quicker progress in your playing. So go on, it's probably the best £15 investment you could make!

I spent all Thursday trying out new mouthpieces and ligatures at John Packers in Taunton.
I've been unhappy with my mouthpiece for a while now and knew I wanted a jazz feel and a bit more edge to my sound. Having found a great jazz mouthpiece I realised it would cost me the lovely smooth, warm tones of my bronze Yanagisawa saxophone. Hopefully I've now found my answer in a more classical Vandoren AL4 Optimum mouthpiece which can give me the jazz edge to my playing and a Rovner Light ligature which tones down the jazz sound enough to still give me my warm tone.
Three days into this new set up and I'm starting to feel I'm getting to grips with my new set up and creating the sound I was looking for.
