Cherubs Childminding

Cherubs Childminding I am an Ofsted registered child-minder with 21 years childcare experience rated Outstanding twice. Hi my name is Amy Cartmill.

I live in Newton Abbot with my husband, daughter, son and our dog who has been a part of our family for 13 years and is amazing with children. I have 10 years experience working in private day nurseries and 6 years experience as an Ofsted registered childminder and with two children of my own I have plenty of hands on experience too! I am level 3 qualified and have completed the CYPOP5 course 'Und

erstand how to set up a home based child care service.' I also have my paediatric first aid and level 2 and 3 safeguarding certificates. I want to use my knowledge and experience to provide high quality child care in a relaxed and homely environment. I aim to provide your children with well planned exciting activities and outings, based on their current interests and next steps to help them learn and develop to their full potential! I have a dedicated playroom full of inviting toys and activities and love wooden and open ended resources. Our playroom leads out into our garden for free flow between the two which all the children love! For more information or to arrange a visit call or pm me. I look forward to hearing from you thank you :) # # #

With our collected blackberries we also created hapa zome butterflies. The children loved choosing and decorating their cotton, then using the various hammers to ‘squash’ and ‘mash’ the blackberries creating patterns, prints and colours. Some blackberries were darker/lighter than others, the children loved comparing the ‘light purple’ and ‘dark purple’ prints. Using the hammers explored their concentration, motor skills and hand eye coordination and encouraged sharing and turn taking and safety with tools and resources ###

Today’s fun collecting blackberries on a nature walk, play in the park and play and picnic on the field. The children made their own blackberry paint using the mortal and pestle and spray bottles of water working their motor skills, hand eye coordination and concentration skills to mash the blackberries into a liquid to mark make with. They loved exploring their imagination and creativity painting and mark making pictures with the blackberries ###
