🌟 WELCOME BACK, IPPLEPEN! 🌟
We hope you’ve all had a fantastic summer and are feeling refreshed and ready for a brilliant new school year! ☀️😊
We are so excited to welcome all of our children and families back to school on Thursday 3rd September. 🏫💙
The school gates will open at 8:45am, ready for the children to come in and start the new school year.
We’re especially looking forward to seeing our new starters and new families as they begin their Ipplepen journey. 🥰
Here’s to a happy, exciting and successful year ahead, filled with learning, friendship, fun and lots of wonderful memories! 📚✨

💛🏆 Congratulations, Buttercup House! 🏆💛

A huge well done to everyone in Buttercup (Yellow) House, who earned the most house points this term! 🌟

Your hard work, positive behaviour, kindness and commitment to our school values have really shone through. Every house point counts and we're so proud of the teamwork and determination you've shown.

As a reward for your fantastic achievement, children in Buttercup House can come to school in non-uniform on Monday 20th July. 🎉

With the warm weather set to continue next week, please help us keep everyone comfortable by ensuring your child:

💧 Brings a water bottle with plenty to drink.
🧢 Wears a sun hat.
☀️ Has sun cream applied before coming to school.
👕 Wears sensible, lightweight school uniform or their school PE kit.

As temperatures are expected to be high, please do not send children in jumpers or cardigans unless absolutely necessary.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone safe and comfortable during the hot weather.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have had a busy and fun-filled day of learning today! 🌞

Despite the warm weather, the children have been working hard and enjoying a range of exciting activities. They created beautiful watercolour paintings, practised measuring pictures using cubes and rulers, and developed their understanding of position and direction through engaging tasks.

This afternoon, everyone took some time to slow down and enjoy a mindful session, helping us to relax and reflect after a busy day.

We are so proud of their enthusiasm, creativity and resilience in the heat! 🎨📏🧠✨

☀️ Hot Weather Reminder ☀️

With very warm weather forecast for next week, we’d like to remind families of a few simple steps to help keep children safe, comfortable and ready to learn:

💧 Please send your child to school each day with a named water bottle.

🧴 Apply sun cream before your child comes to school in the morning.

🧢 Ensure your child brings a named sun hat for outdoor activities.

👕 Jumpers and cardigans are unlikely to be needed during the school day.

In school, we will be encouraging children to use shaded areas, limiting prolonged periods in direct sunlight where appropriate, and ensuring regular opportunities to drink water throughout the day.

⭐ Free speech and language drop-in support sessions for preschool children are now running at Newton Abbot Library ⭐

Speech and Language Therapists will be joining us every Monday from 10am-12pm in the children's library (running alongside our Stay & Play sessions). Pop in for advice, support and strategies from the team for your preschool aged children. This week we were joined by two lovely therapists, Amy and Janna!

The children in Chestnut Class have enjoyed being outside today, searching for minibeasts, making water slides in the water tray and cooking up a storm in the mud kitchen!
