🏆 We're ending the school year with some exciting news... Decoy Primary School has achieved the Primary Science Quality Mark (Gilt)! 🔬🎉

As we celebrate our Year 6 pupils at their Leavers' Presentation, Headteacher Awards, whole-school celebration assembly and our House Team winners' treat, we're delighted to share another fantastic achievement.

This national award recognises the high-quality science teaching and learning that takes place across our school and reflects the enthusiasm of our children, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families.

A special thank you goes to our Science Lead, Charlotte Hodgson, whose passion, commitment and countless hours of hard work have been instrumental in achieving this award.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our science journey this year. We couldn't have done it without you! 💙🔬

🔬🌞 Summer of Science 2026! 🌞🔬

At Decoy, we love celebrating science in the summer, and this half term some of our Year 4 and Year 5 children had the opportunity to attend Torquay Boys' Grammar School's annual STEM Fair and Plastic Fantastic workshop.

Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a range of exciting, hands-on science activities and were, as always, a credit to our school. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour they demonstrated throughout the morning.

A huge thank you to Torquay Boys' Grammar School for inviting us once again, providing such an inspiring experience and kindly transporting our children to and from the event. We are very grateful for your generosity and continued support.

We are now over halfway towards our £4,500 target for new air conditioning units for our classrooms.

We genuinely can’t put into words how grateful we are. The kindness, generosity and support we’ve seen over the last day has been overwhelming. Every donation, every share and every message has reminded us just how special our school community really is.

We’re so close now, with less than £2,000 left to raise, and we’d love to keep this amazing momentum going.

We are absolutely delighted to share that our air conditioning units have now been installed! 🎉 They are already making a huge difference and the classrooms are feeling so much cooler and more comfortable.

🌟 Massive thanks to South Devon SPACE for stepping in at the last minute to give our Year 6s a fun-filled morning after the Woodland's trip was unfortunately cancelled.

The children had an amazing time enjoying the bungee run, inflatable football goal, swingball, and circus skills activities. 🎪⚽🏃‍♂️

A generous local business has offered us 15 air conditioning units for our classrooms at a significantly reduced cost, with delivery available immediately. However, we need to raise £4,500 to purchase and install them.

We are asking if any families, local businesses, or community members would be willing to make a donation. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us provide a safer and more comfortable learning environment for our children during the current heatwave and future periods of hot weather.
