Project Overview
MR Mechanical Services have completed a series of mechanical works packages at Shelbourne Racecourse, Dublin, delivered over multiple phases as part of ongoing refurbishment and fit‑out works.

The works were carried out within a live operational venue, requiring close coordination with the main contractor and design team to accommodate race schedules, hospitality operations and phased handovers.

Scope of Works
Across multiple work packages, MR Mechanical Services delivered:
Domestic hot and cold-water services
Plumbing installations to public and back‑of‑house areas
Sanitaryware installations and alterations
Drainage and associated pipework modifications
Mechanical works to kitchen and catering support spaces
Refurbishment and upgrade works within hospitality environments

Plant & System Selection
Mechanical systems were installed and modified to suit the operational demands of a high‑use sports and hospitality venue.
System selection focused on:
Reliability and robustness
Compatibility with existing installations
Maintainability within a live operational environment

MR Mechanical Services were appointed by Demac Construction to deliver the mechanical services works for a Special Care Unit development at St Joseph's Centre, Clonsilla, Dublin.

The project involved the installation of core mechanical building services systems within a specialist care environment.

Scope included:
- Domestic hot and cold-water services.
- Heating pipework and hot water systems.
- Soils and waste drainage installations.
- Sanitaryware installations within care and staff areas.
- Mechanical pipework connections associated with air source heat pump plant.
- Cold water storage and distribution systems.

Delivered in collaboration with Demac Construction and Renaissance Engineering Ltd.

Completed Project Update

Leixlip Amenities & Sports Centre, Co. Kildare

MR Mechanical Services were delighted to work alongside Killowen Contracts Ltd Contracts and CD Architects on the successful completion of the Leixlip Amenities & Sports Centre extension and refurbishment project on Station Road, Leixlip, Co. Kildare.

This project involved the delivery of a complete mechanical services package to support upgraded gym facilities, changing rooms and amenity spaces within this important community and sports facility.

Scope of Works Included:
• Domestic hot and cold water services
• Plumbing installations to changing rooms and amenities areas
• Low temperature hot water (LTHW) heating systems
• Soils and waste drainage installations
• Air conditioning systems serving gym and activity spaces
• Mechanical ventilation systems serving changing rooms and internal areas

Working within a live public-use environment required careful planning, coordination and phased delivery to minimise disruption while maintaining programme objectives.

The completed project now benefits from modern, efficient mechanical, ventilation and air conditioning systems designed to provide a comfortable environment for both staff and facility users, while supporting long-term operational reliability.

Arbour Hill Apartments, Dublin

MR Mechanical Services is pleased to announce the successful completion of the mechanical services installation for the Arbour Hill Apartments development in Dublin, comprising 14 residential units.

Our scope of works included:

• Air source heat pump installations to each apartment
• Domestic hot and cold water services
• Heating pipework systems
• Soil and waste drainage installations
• Mechanical ventilation systems

This project was delivered through close collaboration with the main contractor, Ganson, and the design team at Douglas Carroll Consulting Engineers, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and performance were achieved throughout.

Project Overview
MR Mechanical Services were appointed by Dalmoy to deliver the full mechanical services package for the refurbishment and upgrade of Dundrum Village Vets, located in Dundrum.

The project involved the strip‑out of existing mechanical and public health services and the installation of new mechanical, air conditioning and ventilation systems suitable for a modern veterinary healthcare environment. All works were delivered in accordance with the approved design and completed within the agreed programme.

Scope of Works
Decommissioning and removal of existing mechanical services
Domestic hot and cold-water services
Low temperature hot water (LTHW) heating systems
Soils and waste drainage installations
VRF air conditioning systems serving clinical and support spaces
Heat recovery ventilation systems
Fresh air supply and extract ventilation systems
Toilet extract ventilation systems
Testing, commissioning and handover of all installed services

Mechanical and building services plant installed on the project included:

MR Mechanical Services is looking to bring in a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to support our commercial team across tendering and live projects.

This is a hands-on role for someone with 2–3 years’ experience (or Higher-Level Apprenticeship Year 3+) who wants real exposure to pricing, procurement, and cost management.

Location - Burren, Co. Down (office-based)

You’ll be working on:
Mechanical tender pricing and take-offs
Supplier enquiries and cost comparisons
Supporting live project commercial tracking

Clear progression towards QS / Senior QS, with strong exposure to real projects from day one.
