Our Music Department’s extra-curricular activities are up and running! 🎤🎸🥁

Whether you love to sing, want to learn something new or fancy making some noise with the band, there’s something to get involved in:

🎤 Monday – School Choir
🎶 Wednesday – Ukulele Club | Years 8–10
🎸 Wednesday – Rock Band | All years welcome
🥁 Thursday – Ulster Scots School Band

All activities take place at lunchtime.

🍎 A Sweet Start to the School Year! 🧁

Our Home Economics Department has kicked off its first practical of the new school year! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Our Year 11 Food & Nutrition students got straight to work making delicious fresh apple sponges — and they look fantastic! 😍

Even better, the apples were home-grown and kindly supplied from the garden of our LSU Classroom Assistant, Mrs Murphy. 🍏🌳 A lovely bit of home-grown produce put to very good use!

Well done, Year 11 — a brilliant first practical! 👏🍎🧁

We’re delighted to offer fully funded Bagpipe & Chanter lessons at Newry High School with Mr Ian Burrows, starting Wednesday 16th September at 9.00am.

🎓 Newry High Sixth Form – Ulster University Open Day

Our Year 13 and Year 14 students recently enjoyed a fantastic visit to Ulster University for their Open Day! 🎓✨

Students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of courses, chat with lecturers, tour the university facilities and get a real taste of what university life has to offer.

The visit was a great opportunity for our Sixth Form students to discover the different pathways available to them and gather valuable information as they begin to think about their next steps beyond Newry High.

A huge thank you to everyone at Ulster University for the warm welcome and informative sessions throughout the day.

👏 We were incredibly proud of how our students represented Newry High, and we hope the experience has inspired them as they continue planning for their futures.
