Tomorrow is a big day as we welcome our new Year 8 students to the St. Mark's family.

Starting a new school can bring lots of excitement, but it's perfectly normal to feel a few butterflies too. To help settle any nerves, some of our fantastic Year 9 students have shared their memories, advice and reassurance about life at St. Mark's.

At St. Mark's, we pride ourselves on being more than a school. We are a family, built on kindness, support and looking out for one another. We hope this video reminds our newest students that they are not facing tomorrow alone. From the moment they walk through our gates, they belong.

We can't wait to welcome the Class of 2026 tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we welcome our newest recruits to St. Mark's. 186 new students will join us for their first day. We can't wait to meet you all!

Year 8 Induction
Friday 28th August
8.30am-11am

When arriving to your new school, make your way to the assembly hall (we will be there to point you in the right direction). Don't forget to bring your schoolbag with you, wear your new St. Mark's uniform and bring a little snack for breaktime.

Mums, dads, guardians are invited to join us for our Year 8 Mass at 11am in the assembly hall, followed by our welcome BBQ. We are looking forward to meeting you all.

It's a big day for our newest students and their families, so we want to make it as enjoyable as possible. Try not to be nervous and bring a smile!

Year 11 & Year 12 Induction
Thursday 27th August
8.30am-10.30am

Students should wear full school uniform. When arriving at school, make your way to your designated year-group yard. Please note, school transport doesn’t start until next week so there will be no buses tomorrow.

At 8.30am there will be an assembly with Mr McGivern for year 11 students.

Year 12 students should make their way to their form class.

As our senior students, you have an exciting and important year ahead. We are looking forward to welcoming you back, catching up after the summer break and helping you prepare for a successful year at St Mark's.

The online public consultation for the proposed Multi Sports Hub at St Mark's High School opens today.

The plans include a new 3G all-weather pitch, modern changing facilities and floodlighting to support increased participation in sport and provide year-round access for schools, clubs and the wider community.

GCSE Results-20th August 2026🎉

A huge well done to all of our students who received their GCSE results today! We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you and all that you have achieved.

Our sincere thanks go to all of our staff, whose tremendous effort, dedication and support have helped our students achieve their very best. We would also like to thank our parents and families for their continued encouragement and support throughout the year.

Today’s results are a wonderful reflection of what can be achieved when students, staff and parents work together in partnership.

Well done also to our Year 10 and Year 11 students who received fantastic Maths results today!

🌟CALLUM- WHAT A LEGEND🌟
💕FINAL TOTAL RAISED -£40,409 💕

Callum, Conor and Michelle called to the Hospice to present us with this amazing final total raised from Callum's Camino Challenge in Memory of Ferghal Quinn.

We are so in awe of Callum whos idea it was to take on this fundraising challenge, and with each and every step he took, he inspired so many people. Walking 120kms is tough enough for anyone but for Callum who has cerebral palsy - a condition that affects movement and coordination, meant every step was that little bit more demanding for him. His determination to finish made him very popular with all the trekkers he met along the way.

Michelle and Conor wished to express their thanks to all who donated online, offline, anonymously, to all the businesses, to the schools, to those who had donation buckets in their shops, to those who organised fundraisers or events towards their challenge.

The trio were delighted to present the amazing total of £40,409 (incl £4993.90 Giftaid), to Hospice staff members Rosy, James and Dr Peter Reel. This was made more poignant as Peter helped care for Ferghal when he was with us here at the Hospice!

Well done Callum, Michelle and Conor, we are truly grateful for your huge support 💙
