🧡 RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) 🧡

New Course begins on Monday 3rd August - Friday 7th August

Cost: £350


Criteria:
1. 16+
2. Good level of fitness
3. Surface dive to a depth of 2 metres
4. Swim 50m in a pool in 2 minutes or less
5. Swim 100m continuously on your front & back
6. Tread water for 30 seconds
7. Surface dive to the floor of the pool
8. Climb out of a pool unaided without using a ladder or steps

Benefits:
* The NPLQ is internationally recognised, so potential to work and travel
* Work within a team
* Great way for students to fund studies
* Learn essential life skills, including First Aid and CPR

🌩️ WEATHER WATCH: CAPE OFF THE CHARTS
This map shows CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy), the fuel that powers thunderstorms.
By Thursday evening, much of Ireland is forecast to be under very high CAPE values, with some areas exceeding 2,500 J/kg.
In simple terms: the atmosphere will be loaded with energy.
High CAPE does not guarantee thunderstorms. A trigger is still needed. But if one develops, conditions could support:
⚡ Frequent lightning
🌧️ Torrential rain
💨 Sudden squalls
🧊 Large hail
For mariners this is the type of setup that deserves attention. A calm afternoon can become a very unpleasant evening in a short space of time.
Keep an eye on the forecast. Keep an eye on the radar.
The atmosphere may be primed for action. 🌩️⛵
