Your fitting might not be the problem… your consultation is. 👀

You can fit a method perfectly and still get a poor result if it was never the right method for that client in the first place.

One of the biggest mistakes we see professionals make is choosing an extension method based on:

❌ What the client asks for
❌ What’s trending on social media
❌ The only method they feel confident fitting
❌ What they’ve always done

But not every method is suitable for every head of hair.

Before choosing a method, you need to assess:

✔️ Hair density
✔️ Strand thickness
✔️ Natural growth patterns
✔️ Scalp health
✔️ Lifestyle and maintenance commitment
✔️ Previous damage or breakage
✔️ The client’s desired result

Fine hair may need a completely different approach to thick, dense hair. A client with fragile hair may not be suitable for the method they saw on TikTok. Someone wanting maximum volume may need a different solution from someone simply filling out the sides.

A great fitting starts long before you fit a single extension.

The consultation is where you protect the client’s natural hair, manage expectations and create a result that actually works for them.

Learning how to fit hair extensions is one skill.

🚨 The mistake I see people make when fitting nano hair extensions…

Using the wrong bead colour. 😩

If your client has a dark root, a bright blonde nano bead is going to stand out no matter how perfect the actual fitting is.

Your bead should be matched to the hair at the ROOT, not the colour of the extension.

Dark root = darker bead.
Blonde lengths = blonde extension.

It sounds like such a tiny detail, but THIS is the difference between a fitting that’s discreet… and one where you can spot every single bead. 👀

And before anyone comes for me 😂 this isn’t about judging someone’s hair it’s an educational example of why the smallest details matter when fitting extensions.

✨ Match the bead to the root area
✨ Check visibility with the hair moving naturally
✨ Think about placement as well as colour
✨ Remember: the goal is for the attachment to disappear
