Consider in the next week or so a plan of how you are going to get your little ones into a good frame of mind for the new school year. Play English or Maths based games, write on whiteboards or paper. Maybe simply start a favourite book together discussing vocabulary. Chat to them about school and see if you can allay any fears.😀Good Luck!

Keep the children reading and writing. Create an environment to encourage discussion. Buy large blank pages to allow for creativity like making posters about things they are interested in - favourite foods, sports star, singer etc. Get stuck in and set that phone to the side. 👍😊

Don’t forget to use BBC Bitesize for help with every school topic. Keep asking your child what they are learning and do a recap mid week to beef the topic out. This week we learned all about the properties of 3D shapes. We looked in our immediate environment for them too. It’s about the language of maths topics e.g. Edges, faces, vertices, make maths come alive in your surroundings. Think ….
