❤️ HELP US GET GLENN & BARR PLAYGROUP BACK HOME ❤️

We’re reaching out to our amazing local community for some much-needed support.

Unfortunately, we have recently discovered that the copper pipework throughout Glenn & Barr Playgroup has badly eroded, meaning the entire plumbing system now needs to be replaced before our children and staff can safely return to our playgroup building.

As a registered charity, this is a huge and completely unexpected expense for our small playgroup, so we have set up a fundraising page with the hope of raising £5,000 towards the essential repairs.

Glenn & Barr Playgroup has been part of our community for many years and means so much to so many families, past and present. We would be incredibly grateful for any support in helping us get our little ones back home to their playgroup as soon as possible. 🏡❤️

Glenn & Barr Playgroup would like to invite parents of children starting in September 2026 to our Parents Information Evening / AGM.

Prospective parents and members of the community who are interested in supporting and keeping our playgroup thriving are very welcome to join us on the night!

Parents of children starting in September 2026 will:
📍 Receive your child’s induction pack
📍 Get important information about your child’s preschool year
📍 Meet the staff
📍 Meet the committee
📍 Have the opportunity to look around the playgroup

What an amazing visit from Catherine at Amazon Jungle Show!
Catherine shows so much care and affection towards her animals and today she has been teaching the children at Glenn and Barr how to handle them with care
All of the children were so brave and got to touch the animals and discuss how they felt!
Some were sticky 🐸 some were spikey 🦎 and some were hard 🐢
We all had the most wonderful afternoon! Thank you Catherine 😊

💛 Let’s support a fantastic cause together 💛

We would love to encourage all our Glenn & Barr families and friends to get behind this wonderful fundraiser – a Pub Quiz & Kids Disco in aid of Cancer Fund for Children, Daisy Lodge.

📅 Sunday 3rd May
📍 Glenn GFC
⏰ Pub Quiz at 3PM followed by a Kids Disco
🍔 Food truck on site

This event is held in loving memory of Anne Ellen Mackin – a very special cause close to many hearts 💛

It promises to be a great day for both adults and children, so why not gather a team, bring the kids along, and show your support.

The sun shine has put happy smiles on our faces this week! 🌞
We have spent much time outdoors where we have explored messy play, bubbles and building houses for the insects we have found 🕷
Through lifting large objects like tyres, children develop their coordination and confidence in their own abilities. Many children explored how the different sized tyres could represent a range of vehicles when using a bed and a steering wheel to role-play 🚜

🎨 Through process art, the children have been focusing on the experience of creating; rather than the final product. By providing open-ended choices, the children develop problem-solving, planning, and critical thinking.
Process art encourages children to trust their own instincts. Unlike structured artwork, it reinforces that their choices have value, fostering a sense of self-worth and esteem. 🖌
