Last May, our team came together to discuss and revisit our school values. Today, as we begin the new school year, we continued that important work with a follow-up session alongside John McManus, EA.

Our session focused on our vision, with our children firmly at the centre of our purpose and everything we strive to achieve as a school.

Over the course of this school year, we look forward to continuing to review and develop our vision, values and mission, ensuring they reflect who we are, what we believe in and our commitment to being the best school we can be for our children and our community.

A positive start to an exciting year ahead! 🌟

A SeeSaw message has been sent to parents and carers with important information and arrangements for the start of the new school year. Please take a few moments to read through the details to help ensure a smooth and positive return to school.

We hope everyone has enjoyed a restful summer and we look forward to another fantastic year of learning and friendship.

With a return to school planned for next week some of our young people may be keen to talk about how they feel about it.

Our friends Middletown Centre for Autism have provided a resource to start the conversation! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

As attention shifts to the return to school, it is a good time to discuss feelings about school. This resource provides a starting point for a conversation about positive and negative feelings about school.

✨ Angel Eyes Training ✨

A big thank you to our amazing staff who took part in Angel Eyes training, building their knowledge and confidence to better support children with visual impairment. πŸ’™

We’re committed to creating inclusive environments where every child can thrive, learn and feel supported.

A special thank you to Lisa and Rebecca for facilitating such an informative and valuable training session. Your time, knowledge and passion are greatly appreciated! πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

πŸ’™πŸ’› Fiachra's Trail - Walking in Memory of Fiachra Maguire πŸ’›πŸ’™

On Sunday 30th August 2026, the Maguire family will take on the Slieve Gullion Mountain Trail in loving memory of Fiachra, a much-loved former pupil of Rathore School.

Fiachra brought joy, smiles and happiness to so many people throughout his life and this special walk is a wonderful way for his family and friends to celebrate his memory while supporting future generations of pupils at Rathore School.

Instead of seeking sponsorship for participation, the family kindly asks that anyone who wishes to support the event considers making a donation to Rathore School. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference to the lives and opportunities of our pupils.

As a school community, we are deeply touched by the Maguire family's generosity and strength. We invite our Rathore families, friends and the wider community to support this special fundraiser and help honour Fiachra's memory.

πŸ’™ Thank you for your kindness and support.

πŸŽ’ Getting Ready for the New School Year! πŸ’™πŸ’›

As our children and young people prepare to return to Rathore School on Tuesday 1st September, we know that the transition back to school can bring lots of different feelings.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing some helpful resources and supports to make the return to school as familiar, predictable and positive as possible. 🌟

πŸ“… To get started, please find our Visual August Calendar, helping children see the countdown to their return, along with our Social Story – Preparing for the New School Year.

We hope these resources help our pupils and families feel a little more prepared and excited about the new school year ahead. 🏫✨

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Rathore! πŸ’™

That’s a wrap for Summer Scheme 2026! β˜€οΈπŸŽ‰

Today we rounded off Summer Scheme with some delicious treats from Katie O’s, an amazing dance performance and, of course, plenty of sport and fun with Ross.

A huge thank you to Mr Carr, Shannon, Micky and our entire staff team for their hard work and enthusiasm over the past two weeks.

Finally, thank you to all of our families and most importantly, to our wonderful pupils for bringing the smiles, laughter and fun each day.

Check out some of our pupils’ favourite moments from Summer Scheme!

How are we almost at the end of Week 2 of Summer Scheme already? β˜€οΈ

Another fun-filled day packed with smiles, laughter and plenty of memories!

✨ Tommy Trickster had everyone entertained.
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ We got creative in cookery.
🎈 The inflatables were a huge hit.
πŸ₯ž We enjoyed a big breakfast, with a sneaky McDonald’s treat too! πŸŸπŸ˜„
πŸ“• Story telling from Mairead had us all intrigued!

There was so much fun in between, and it’s safe to say there wasn’t a dull moment. We can’t believe there’s only one day left of another fantastic week!
