We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant / Wraparound Assistant to join our dedicated and caring team on a permanent basis.

📚 Teaching Assistant / Wraparound Assistant
⏰ 38.75 hours per week
📅 Term Time + 2 INSET Days
✅ Permanent Position

This exciting role combines:
• 30 hours per week as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils in their learning and development.
• 8.75 hours per week as a Wraparound Assistant, helping to provide a safe, engaging and nurturing environment after the school day.

Last week, Class 1 and Class 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Pendennis Castle. The children loved exploring the castle grounds and spotting real-life features they had been learning about in class, including the moat, drawbridge, portcullis and arrow loops.
Class 2 also took part in the wonderful Now and Then workshop, where they travelled back in time to discover why the castle was built and what life was like 500 years ago. The children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up, taking part in role play and handling artefacts, which inspired lots of thoughtful discussion and curiosity about the past.
A huge thank you to our PTFA for generously funding the workshop and helping to make this memorable experience possible. 🏰✨

Class 4 have had an incredible week!
This week, the pupils shared their production with their families. Their hard work had paid off and they performed amazingly. I am so proud of how well they learned their lines and the confidence they showed on stage. Well done everyone!
They also had a fantastic time in forest school, where they used axes to chop up pieces of wood.

Last week, Class 2 enjoyed a special visit from the NSPCC and their mascot, Buddy, as part of the Speak Out Stay Safe workshop.
The children learned about different situations where children might feel unsafe or worried and explored ways to keep themselves safe. They spent time identifying their trusted adults both in school and at home, and talked about how important it is to speak up if something is troubling them.
The children also learned how the NSPCC can help, including their website and Childline contact details. We were so proud of their thoughtful engagement throughout the session! 💚

Thank you for all the support received at our Art sale today after school. All funds raised go to our School Council pupil group who will decide on how the money is spent. The art items will be on sale on Monday also so please send pupils in with a donation on Monday for anything you would like them to purchase.

The Year 6s had a fantastic day at Camel Creek today for their SATs reward day. They had a great time on a variety of rides and enjoyed looking at all the different animals. Their behaviour was fantastic and they represented Summercourt well. A huge thank you to the PTFA for funding this trip for them, they absolutely loved it!
