Our mission is to promote aerospace and STEM education in Cornwall whilst providing facilities that will help to inspire learners of all ages.

With heavy hearts, the Trustees of CAET have elected to wrap up the charity with immediate effect.

Without access to the purpose built classroom and other resources, it has become impossible to provide schools and youth groups with educational visits in partnership with Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre.

As a fledgling CIC, we are devasted about this outcome and thank all those who have supported us in the past.

The Very Worst News 11/04/2023

So, our STEM Education charity is now bereft of a home, following the closure of Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre.

The charity was set up to deliver the Education Programme for and on behalf of the museum as a stepping stone to become a single charity-led accredited air museum.

We have inspired many young people, and we are devasted that the museum's unique facility will no longer exist. Sadly, this leaves the charity with a lack of resources to provide schools, colleges and youth groups with an immersive experience within the world of aerospace and engineering.

We will aim to look for alternative ways to fulfil our objectives in the longer term. Should any organisation or potential sponsor have interest in supporting us, we would be delighted to hear from you.

In the meantime, we thank all those who were involved in the museum. You provided a wonderful experience to so many.

The Very Worst News As many of you have observed in press reports and social media outlets, we have had to face the outcome we have been battling so hard to avoid. We were still negotiating with Senior Officials of Cornwall Council until last week for another extension which would have seen us open our doors for Easter...

We apologise for the lack of updates over the past month or so, and really appreciated those who have approached us to find out how things are going.

The situation remains the same as our last update. We are still awaiting Cornwall Council to grant planning permission for a purpose built facility near Newquay Airport. We are unable to share the specifics of the potential location at this time.

The museum, and our aligned charity, Cornwall Aerospace Education Trust are working hard to secure public and private sector funding that will allow us to realise our dreams of developing an amazing new visitors centre and a STEM educational facility for all to enjoy a truly immersive experience.

Should you have the desire to help our aims either financially, or through volunteering, please send us a message and we will contact you.

We hope to bring you more news soon. In the meantime, here’s a great image of our Hawker Hunter T8 in the evening light during our last Threshold.aero take over in October 2022.

Some positive news! The museum was our primary resource for delivering immersive STEM education to children and young adults. If planning permission is granted by Cornwall Council, our Trust and the museum have a very exciting future to look forward to. In fact, the sky’s the limit!!!

Our charity is just about to lose its most valuable educational asset. Without the museum we will need to look for alternative sites to provide immersive STEM education to schools, colleges, beavers, cubs, scout groups and youth groups. Sadly, neither Devon or Cornwall has a resource that provide a fraction of the facilities provided at Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre.
