Definitely one of those brave or stupid moments, my money’s on stupid. It wasn’t bravery, I was just too ignorant to even see the risks haha. They didn’t even cross my mind. It was just this overwhelming gut feeling that it was the right thing to do, so I sent it.

Was debating whether to reseal this with resin or go with a 2K clear topcoat. Ultimately went with 2K, it matches the existing finish better, is a bit more cost-effective, and keeps the process simpler. In terms of end result, both would’ve worked, but there’s a strong argument that 2K performs slightly better as the final protective layer. Resin would’ve worked, but for wear protection, 2K probably edges it.

It's so good to see the effort they are putting into growing the surf community! From the sessions event earlier this year, to supporting surf shops like ours! A sale is never the goal. The goal with every customer is for them to leave feeling more certain, more excited, more in love with surfing. Sometimes that means a board from us. Sometimes it doesn’t. If someone ends up somewhere else with something that works better for them, that’s still a win in my book. The craft for me isn’t about moving boards. It’s about keeping people in the water.

There's a difference between designing to solve a problem and designing because something looks good. The problem starts when we pretend they're the same thing. Sometimes I wonder whether a feature was designed to solve a problem, or whether the problem was designed afterwards to justify the feature. I'd rather tell you something looks cool than claim it was designed for a purpose it never had.
